As promised in my Drugstore Haul I’m here today to UPDATE you about what worked for me, there are some HITS and some MISSES, so lets dive in!
I want to make a little disclaimer: in that post I said I was going to update you “in three weeks”, but today is two weeks after I posted that article, so I quickly want to say: I posted my haul a week after I wrote it, which means, although the post has been live for two weeks, I’ve tested these products for three.
I’m going to use hearts to rate the products:
Lastly, if something didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it won’t work for you and if you have any tip to make them work let me know in the comments down below. Enough blabbing, let’s get started.
I really like this product, it didn’t make me miss my favourite Bioderma.
It takes off my make up really easily, doesn’t sting and I’m enjoying using it.
Although there are really no cons, I think I still prefer Bioderma somehow, this is way cheaper though.
I’m sorry but I’m not a fan of this. To be honest it’s my fault because I grab it thinking it would be a different thing. I thought it was going to be a milky cleanser, like one that you have to use with water. But this is an old school make up remover milk and I never liked those.
It did work, but to me it’s such a waste of time and cotton pads that I don’t ever reach for it. Maybe if you have really dry skin and you don’t like to use water to cleanse your skin you might like it because it does remove make up but it’s too high maintenance for me.
I also don’t like that the packaging kinda tricked me, with the pump and the gimmicky name.
I have the version for combination skin.
No surprises here, it was a repurchase so of course I love it, you can clearly see how much I’ve use it already.
I put it on my face morning and night, it works well under make up. It’s really hydrating but not greasy, it feels like water which is really nice, but I also think it can trick you to use way to much product: two pumps cover my all face.
This moisturiser is infused with hyaluronic acid which my skin loves. You can read here all its benefits.
The bottle it’s great as well: first of, I appreciate that is a 70ml glass bottle, it makes it very luxurious and I love that you can see through so you know when it’s running low. The pump makes it really sanitiry and somehow once it’s about to finish you can still take all the product inside, even if it’s really low .
I’m not super keen on the scent, it’s very herbal, but it doesn’t linger.
I’m not usually the biggest fan of sheet masks, I think they are such a waste, BUT this one I love. I wish it came in a bottle.
I’m not saying I will buy it all the time, but after the haul I got another one. Again it has hyaluronic acid. I really like it because it’s very moist (omg, I hate that word) and I find that after I use it my skin it’s very plump and glowy. I also find that the mask sticks well to the face, which is quite rare.
To waste less product I put it on and keep it until it’s completely dry, it’s a real cuddle for me since it forces me to lay down and watch a movie. I literally HAVE TO relax! I put the serum that it’s still inside the packaging on my décolleté, shoulders, arms and hands, this way I use it till the last drop.
I loveeee the scent of this shampoo and as you can see I’ve used a lot of product.
It lathers really well, but I find you need a lot of it to feel it on your hair, which kind of bothers me. Truth is that I have a lot of hair, maybe if you have less you might like it. It doesn’t weight them down and the divine smell lingers for a few days. It’s quite hydrating as well.
At the end of the day it’s a good shampoo but I’m not going to repurchase it because I need too much product and I’m running out really quickly.
I was so excited to try this conditioner and I’m so disappointed cause it might be one of the worst thing I have ever tried. It’s inexistent. It disappiar into nothing, not hydrating, not detangler. Terrible.
Sometimes I use conditioners to shave my legs if I don’t like it for my hair. This doesn’t work even for that.
Also, I don’t know it you can get it from the picture but the pump broke the first time I used it which adds to the fail. I don’t even know how I’m going to finish it.
I don’t like this brush but not because it’s a bad brush. It really good. Very soft and high quality but it doesn’t pick up enough product for my tastes.
I like a bold glow all the time and this makes it waaay too soft. If you want to see my favourite highlighter brush along with my other favourites click here.
Nothing much to say, these are my favourite blotting sheets. I’ve repurchased them multiples times. They are really absorbing and not very expensive at all. One pack comes with 100 sheets, I use them all the times and they still last me for months.
I also find the packaging really nice because it doesn’t ruin easily since it’s made of a rubbery soft material.
Essence Instant Matt Setting Spray
Controversially I really like this product. Does it keep me matt? I don’t know. Does it make my make last longer? Maybe. Let me explain. It has been 40 freaking degrees in Italy and having make up on without sweating has been impossible.
So, I like this product because it definitely makes my make up less powdery and the mist it’s really fine but I’m not sure about the claims it has. I’m going to keep testing it out. Honestly it’s so cheap that I’ll repurchase it anyway since I don’t like to spend a lot on setting sprays. They don’t do enough for me to justify the purchase.
Essence The Gel Nail Polish
Dispite the name this is a normal nail polish, I wore this color on my toes for two weeks and I loved it.
Essence polishes are truthly amazing and this one it’s not exeption.
It’s opaque, not streaky and it lasted without chipping. It dries quickly too. I only needed two coats to get it to the perfect coverage.
Essence Volume Stylist 18h Curl and Hold Mascara
I usually really like Essence mascara and this one it’s no exeption but it’s definitely not my favourite. It’s too thick of a formula for my tastes.
I love the spooly and it’s very voluminzing and lenghtening but it takes forever to put it on. I also prefer wetter formulas. I like it but I’m not going to repurchase it once I run out.
I have to confirm what everybody says: these pencils are incredibles.
They are very creamy but the stay on for forever. I love them under lipsticks or on their own. Surprisingly, I ended up using the warmer shade (Nude Beige) the most, I love it underneath my favourite summer lipstick (Mac Kinda Sexy) but I got a lot of compliments when I wore the pink one (Nude Pink) on its own.
I want more shades, I love them! They are so affordable!
Formula X Nail Polishes
The blue one (Majestic) it’s really beautiful, I liked it with one coat, it lasted for two days without chipping (nail polishes chips very easly on me, but I don’t mind, I like to change colours frequently).
The glittery one (Hyperactive) was stunning. The reflexes are so unique. Glitter are really long lasting and this is no exeption, even if it chips you can’t really see it but it was quite hard to remove, kind of normal with glitter though.
The green one (Over The Top), I don’t like it. I’m not the biggest fan of the color to begin with, it turned out more yellow than green and it was really sheer and streaky even with three coats. I also tried with the Essence polish underneath and I still didn’t like it. I’d say pass on that.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts. Please subscribe to my social medias and to the newsletter: all the links are in the side bar.
