Last week while I was shopping for my mum’s birthday present I stumble upon this lip balm at the check out line and since I needed a new one, I thought I should buy it.
How is it possible that I have a hundred lip balms and I run out of all of them at the same time?
Anyway, I got the Alma K Hydrate Silky Lips Balm because is sounded really nice and new, I’ve never heard of the brand and it wasn’t really expensive.
The packaging is really simple and I’m pretty sure it didn’t come in a box, I had no information about the product other than it has 100% natural ingrediets which it’s really nice, so I went on the website and checked the infos.
- Shea Butter
Borage Seed Oil
- Evening Primrose Oil
- Grape Seed Oil
- Dead Sea Minerals (apparently the entire brand is made with them)
And it’s suppost to be really hydrating and soothing.
Let’s start with the packaging, I really like the applicator because it’s really easy to clean and hygenic but I never know how much I am squeezing out, so most of the times I end up having a lot coming through and it’s a bit inconvenient:
As you can see here, I’m pressing really hard and this is how much it comes out.
The formula it’s quite weird too, it seams like it has a more firm/solid component mixed with a oily one like the shea butter and the oils separetes in the packaging. So sometimes it comes out really liquidy and sometimes it’s really hard.
I guess you have to shake it before use but it doen’t say anythjng on the packaging or o the web site. (I tried, nothing changed).
The fact that is so liquidy though makes it really hard to stick to the lips, it tents to move and you feel it all over your face but then disappear in about an hour leaving the lips quite dry and thight which obviously makes it pointless to wear in the first place.
I’m not going to show it on the lips because as you can see it’s just clear gloss.
The thing that bothers me the most is the SCENT, it’s horrible! It smells like plastic and the taste in your mouth is horrible too, really bitter and plasticky, very very unpleasent to use.
I can’t find a place where you can buy it or the price online. I think I payed something around 5€.
- Hydration: 6/10
- Packaging: 6/10
- Longevity: 5/10
- Application: 5/10
- Texture: 3/10
- Comfort: 3/10
- Scent: 1/10
I don’t like this lip balm AT ALL. It is hydrating but it lasts such a short amount of time that even the feeling of hydration goes away in about 15 minutes and you are back to the beginning. I like the applicator but the formula makes the squeezy tube uncomfortable to use. I don’t like the way it feels and I absolutely dislike the taste and scent. In my opinion you can skip this lip balm.
