Hi Darlings, for today’s Halloween look I did this Glam Skull look! (With glam I mean winged eyes and LOTS of highlighters!) I legit had so much fun creating it that for the whole week I’ll post all Halloween looks: Welcome to HALLOWEEK!
I’m so pleased with how this look turned out and how easy it was! I’ll try to break up the steps for you but the best tip I can give you is to look at a skull picture (mine or whoever you like) and try to mimic the features. Don’t be precise.
For this look, I used a small number of products and I tried to keep it as simple as possible, I promise it’s so easy, just take your time because it’s not a quick look, it’s easy but not quick!
I think it’s easier to tell you what I used and explain the steps without dividing them in my usual FACE/EYES/LIPS categories.
I did my usual base, the only difference is that I put concealer and powder on my lips as well to cancel them.
- Primer: NYX Angel Veil Primer
- Foundation: L’Oréal Infallible 24H Matte (Shade: Natural Rose)
- Concealer: Maybelline Eye Eraser (Shade: Light)
- Powder: Maybelline Matte Maker (Shade: Nude Beige)
Then I used MAC Blush in Harmony, as a contour shade, to start skullpting (Bad joke Mimi, bad joke) around my eyes, my temples, my cheekbones and my jawline, basically everywhere my face naturally sinks in.
Then I took Blackout by Urban Decay (mine is in a palette but you can get it as a single or use whatever black shadow you have) and repeat the same step, put it in the contour of your face and I also used it to define my brows but not really precisely at all.
On the eyes I used the Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in Black as a base, afterwards, I put Blackout on top and I blended into that winged out shape, you don’t have to do it, but I like the way it turned out.
I used that liner also to line the upper and lower inner rhyme of my eyes, to draw the nose and the lips.
The key is BLEND, BLEND, BLEND. Every step you do, you add black and blend: the messier the better.
As a final touch, I used Venetian Red from the Modern Renaissance Palette to add a bit of depth over the black on my forehead, around the eyes and on the nose.
I used all three shades from the Smashbox Spotlight Palette (Shade: Pearl) to highlight wherever I didn’t contour.
Lastly, I put a lot of mascara on my top and bottom lashes, I used the L’Oreal Lash Paradise (I thought to use falsies but against the black, they weren’t really visible so I decided to skip the step).
Give it all a final blend with a gigantic fluffy brush and set it in place with the Essence Instant Matt Setting Spray.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question.
