Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara.
I’m pretty sure that even if you have been living under a rock you know how almost everyone loves the L’Orèal Lash Paradise Mascara that came out a few months ago. I know the title says Paradise Extatic because I’m pretty sure that’s the European name (correct me if I’m wrong) but it’s the Lash Paradise, they are the same product.
Being the beauty addict that I am, I’ve been impatiently waiting for it to come out in Europe as well, so when I saw the advertising on TV I went out and bought it the same day!
After testing it for about 3 weeks (it takes me forever to build an opinion on mascaras because at first I always love all of them) I’m finally ready to tell you all the pros and cons about the beauty bloggers favourite L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara!
You can buy it here: L’Oreal Paradise Extatic
The PACKAGING of this mascara is STUNNING! Quite possibly the most beautifully packaged one I’ve ever seen and I like the European one a lot more: I love the rose gold metallic accent on the lid and the overall pink vibe.
The fact that it comes in a cardboard box makes it feel more high end than drugstore.
I find that the FORMULA it’s not too wet or too clumpy: I’d say it’s really creamy.
The COLOUR is a really intense Black.
The BRUSH has an hourglass shape and it’s made of soft bristles, but it picks up a little too much product. Apart from that I really like the shape it allows me to cover all the lashes from inner to outer corner without being messy.
The LASTING POWER it’s amazing too. Once it’s on, it lasts the whole day without smudging or flaking (I don’t have particularly watery eyes, though, just to be fair) but it’s not hard to remove at all, I use normal Micellar water.
The PRICE is where it gets disappointing: 12€ for 6ml!!!
I don’t know how much products are in other countries: let me know in the comments, but that’s almost HALF of a regular mascara! I went to a store have they priced it 19€! L’Oréal you have to do something for this: 6ml is NOT ENOUGH!
Anyway let’s move on to the EFFECT:
This is ONE COAT, yes, I repeat one coat on the upper and lower lashes: I’m actually quite impressed, especially compared to no mascara: it definitely lengthens a lot and it’s really black.
To be honest I never wear one coat of mascara but I would with this one: it looks amazing.
This is with TWO COATS: The second coat really build up the volume at the roots but it also made them look a little clumpy, I like the effect but some people won’t.
I also have one coat on the lower lashes: it’s a bit harder to use but it looks beautiful.
This is how it looks from far away without any other eye make up on, as you can see my lashes are still quite visible and it’s a very dramatic effect.
Less address the elephant in the room: this mascara looks quite similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex both the packaging and the brush.
To be honest I DON’T LIKE the Too Faced one, it was way too clumpy for my tastes and it weighed my lashes down: I’m usually really easy to please with mascaras so for me to completely hate a mascara is rare.
I remember gifting it to my sister, that’s how much I didn’t like it. I know I’m the exception though, both her and Julia really love it!

I absolutely adore this mascara, I bet you guessed it! It looks AWESOME, I actually got compliments on my lashes. If I want to be fussy, I wish it was I little less clumpy and that the applicator was easier to use on the lower lashes but mainly because I’m really clumsy. The only real downside is the price per quantity, L’Oréal can do better than this.
