Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatches of the NYX Lip Lingerie in the shades Embellishment and Bedtime Flirt.
This is a very popular formula by the brand and all the shades from this line are somewhat nude: they have different undertone and darkness.
On the website, they say: “Luxurious liquid lipstick with a plush, Matte finish. Each sultry shade will coat the curves of your lips with an irresistibly creamy colour.”
They are available on nyxcosmetics.com for 7$ each.
EMBELLISHMENT
BEDTIME FLIRT
COLOUR
- Embellishment is a really cool toned mauvy grey.
- Bedtime Flirt is a dark rosy brownie nude.
PACKAGING
The packaging is really long and skinny in a hard plastic material. The shade name is a bit tricky to find but overall I like it.
FORMULA
I have different thoughts for each lipstick.
Embellishment:
I hate this liquid lipstick, the formula is super thick and gloopy, somehow it manages to be super creamy and super dry at the same time.
It is quite moussy but it dries into a matt finish but it sooooo PATCHY. It clumps up on the side of the lips, it’s uneven and it looks terrible. It’s also really sticky.
Bedtime Flirt:
Can’t believe how different this formula is: it’s creamy but matt and it goes on like a feather it’s so lightweight and comfortable. Be careful though, you need the thinnest coat or it will clump up.
It’s not sticky or dry, it goes on super smooth and it meshes with the lips becoming one with them.
It doesn’t really have a scent.
APPLICATION
It has a really long doe foot applicator that I really like because it makes super easy to draw a crisp line but it picks up too much product that I have to clean on the neck of the bottle.

Bedtime Flirt:
LASTING POWER
Embellishment: Since it’s so thick it comes off very patchy, it lasts about two hours but it’s very uncomfortable. On top of that, it’s very hard to remove.
Betime Flirt: Once it dries IT LASTS ALL DAY, on me, it stays put for 7 hours before fading, you can easily wipe it off and reapply it.

This liquid lipstick is so disappointing, I like the shade, the packaging and the scent. But the formula is super clumpy and patchy, the application is difficult because is so stricky and the lasting power is terrible yet it’s so hard to remove. Such a strong pass.

I love love love this lipstick, so glad I got it despite the terrible experience with the previous one, I like the formula since is so creamy yet matt, it’s a bit tricky to apply because you have to do such a thin layer or it will get clumpy but the lasting power is amazing, it’s not drying and I can’t recommend it enough.

The shades are SO hit or miss! You can try bedtime flirt, that a really good one ? let me know what shades didn’t work for you though, I want to buy more and I’d love to avoid the misses ??
unfortunately I don’t have them anymore 🙁 I just threw them away :/ I hate having lipsticks I don’t like, otherwise I’ll be reaching for them anyways and then spend the entire day feel awful and trying to fix it when it goes bad ??

I also have the Bedtime Flirt lippie, and I love it! I have other shades of the NYX lip lingerie range, and with some, I had the same problem with the formula. It just felt gloopy and too much. But with others, it was really good! Strange that they differ so much from shade to shade!
It’s crazy how much the formula changes between each shade, but Bedtime Flirt has my heart!
They all so different on the lips compared to the swatches! Loving the colors though.

I love establishment, I also have bedroom flirt and I feel it’s a bit meh. It’s strange how the same lipstick can be totally different on other people, it’s like perfume

“Bedtime Flirt” looks so good on you! I actually really love Embellishment, but I have friends that had the same experience as you did with that shade. I do agree that it dries your lips out and crumbles, BUT I love the color so much I couldn’t give it up. I like to put a very thin layer of balm on first (my personal favorite is Aquaphor) to avoid all of this.
