As you might have seen on my Instastories I went shopping a couple of weeks ago, I got so much essence make up.
This product, which is the Essence Volume Booster Lash Primer, caught my interest for two reasons, first of, essence mascaras are usually pretty good and second, I’ve never tried a lash primer and I wanted to see how it will work paired with my favourite mascara.
In case you didn’t know a lash primer is a base you use before mascara to hump up its effect.
You can get it here or 3,14$.
I love the packaging, it’s so cute, I like that it’s very tiny and skinny.
The spooly is a standard size silicone applicator.
The formula is a not too thick or too liquidy, it’s white and it contains little fibres. I was pleasantly surprised because it didn’t make my mascara turn gray and I didn’t have any fibres fall down on my checks
The only problem I have with it is the scent, it’s not bad, but it’s very strong, I haven’t had any problem with it but I’m a bit concerned to put something so heavily fragranced near my eyes. If you have sensitive eyes this might be something to keep in mind.
It smells like peaches in case you were wondering.
It contains açai oil, mango butter and vitamin E so it’s supposed to be really good for the lashes which is a nice added touch.
This mascara lasts all day on me without flaking or smudging. I haven’t noticed any changes in the lasting power of my mascara.
I think it makes mascara slightly easier to remove, but I don’t really struggle for this problem.
EFFECT & APPLICATION
It’s very easy to apply, it doesn’t clump up my lashes and it’s both volumizing and lengthening. I don’t find it hard to layer mascara on top.
For the effect I’ll leave you with the pictures so you can judge. (For mascara on top I used my favourite Maybelline Total Temptation.)
TOP ROW (Primer): No Mascara | One Coat Of Mascara| Two Coats Of Mascara
BOTTOM ROW (No Primer): No Mascara | One Coat Of Mascara| Two Coats Of Mascara

- Longevity: 10/10
- Application: 8/10
- Packaging: 10/10
- Effect: 9/10
- Formula: 8/10
(But with a note)
Here’s what I think, I like the effect that it gives, it’s definitely there but I like my mascara even without it and in my day today life I don’t feel the need to add the extra step. Maybe if you have really short lashes it will do wonders for you because honestly it’s a very good product and it has those oils that will help you grow them which is very nice. I think that personally I will use it when I want a bit of extra volume and length but I don’t want to use falsies. For that price if you are into lash primers I think you’ll love it.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question.
