Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the L’Oreal Nude Magic Cushion Foundation.
A few weeks ago I’ve run out of my favourite foundation and I wanted to try something new for the summertime.
I have oily skin and I know I get even oiler in during summer and I’m tired to try to fight it because I always loose, so my philosophy this year is going to be to actually embrace my oily skin and make it look like I want that effect.
I don’t really wear make up on a daily bases so I wanted something quick and easy to use to enhance my complexion but that looked like skin. I decided to try the L’Oreal Nude Magic Cushion Foundation because I’ve heard great things about it but I wanted to see if it worked with my OILY SKIN.
I have the shade 3 Vanilla which matches me perfectly. You can get it here for 20$.
This is a cushion foundation, they really had their moment last year, if you are not familiar with the concept they are essentially made out of a sponge that is soaked in foundation.
I like the packaging a lot. It’s luxurious and travel-friendly, it comes with the sponge applicator that you should use to apply but to be honest I much prefer a flat kabuki brush.
FORMULA & COVERAGE
The formula is quite thin and runny and it has a light to medium coverage. It claims to have a dewy finish but I think it has more of a natural one, it looks just like skin.
It has SPF 29 which I think is so nice coming into Summer.
This foundation looks amazing on my skin, I love how natural the finish is, I have to set it with powder but it doesn’t make me oily.
It’s super smoothing (I hope you can notice it from the picture), it mashes into the skin becoming one with it.
This foundation lasts for 8 hours without moving, it’s insane, but I have to blot it after 2 hours (that doesn’t bother me too much since I have to do it with most foundations during the summer)
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 8/10
- Application: 8/10
- Texture: 10/10
- Pigmentation: 9/10
- Packaging: 8/10
I really like this foundation, it’s not one that I’ll reach for nights out or more formal occasions but I love it for day to day life. It’s easy to wear and it doesn’t look like you are wearing anything. I like the natural finish and the light to medium coverage. The packaging is awseome as it makes it easy to carry around. If only I think it’s a bit overpriced. 20$ is a lot for a drugstore foundation but I like it a lot and you can always wait for a sale.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question.
