Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Maybelline Dream Satin Fluide Foundation.
I got this foundation years ago and I’ve never used it because the shade was way too dark for me and I never tan but after staying a week in Genoa I was finally dark enough to try it.
Luckily I had it because my other foundations were so light (which is absolutely awesome for once) but this one matched me perfectly, for the last two weeks at least, now I have to mix it with a lighter shade.
The one I have is in 45 Honey but it comes in 29 shades for about 7$ and you can get it here.
PACKAGING
The bottle is made of glass and it has a pump. It contains 30ml of product which is pretty standard for a foundation.
I’m not the biggest fan of the glass bottle: it looks nice and fancy but I’m personally incredibly clumsy so I’m always scared to break it.
I appreciate the pump as it’s really sanitary.
It contains SPF13 but it doesn’t give any flashback.
FORMULA & COVERAGE
The formula is quite thick and not runny, it’s definitely full coverage. I’m not the type of girl who loves full coverage foundations so this is a bit too much for me.
I used one pump to cover my entire face. The foundation is quite easy to blend and it has a moussy consistency as the name would suggest, once it dries you won’t be able to move it.
My favourite way to apply it it’s with a damp sponge, I find that it makes the foundation mesh with the skin a lot better.
EFFECT
This foundation looks amazing on my skin, I love how matt and natural the finish it is and it covers almost everything but looks like skin.
I like more natural products on myself but I think if you like full coverage this is the product for you.
LASTING POWER
This foundation lasts for 5 hours before becoming shiny but I almost like it better as it wears off.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 8/10
- Longevity: 8/10
- Application: 9/10
- Texture: 9/10
- Pigmentation: 9/10
- Packaging: 8/10
GRADE: B+
I really like this foundation, it has served me well in the last few weeks. It keeps me matt and it looks quite natural. I don’t really like full coverage foundations so I don’t think I’ll get a shade that matches me when I’m paler. I also think it would be a bit too drying for my skin going to fall and winter. That being said, I’m glad I had it, it was the perfect foundation for me during this summer.

Sounds like a great product! My skin is so picky when it comes to foundation, so I’ll have to try this one out!
Thank you, let me know how it goes ?
This sounds like a really good foundation!
It really is xx
I’ll have to check this one out – I have a hard time finding a foundation that covers my rosacea prone skin.
I have rosacea too, this will totally cover it! ?

Thank you for reading love xx
Always <3
Will have to wait til summer to try this foundation as New York winters are hard on the skin. xx ?
Definitely not a winter foundation! Xx
That’s a great rating! I may need to give it a try — love that it’s full coverage!
Thank you for reading, I’m glad you found a new product to try
I am always afraid to use this brand but it looks great on you! A pretty chicka!
I absolutely love them, one of my favourite brands ?
Maybelline has been around for years, it is a very stable and reliable brand.
Totally agree xx
Totally xx
Sounds like a pretty good product!! I’m not really a fan of full coverage either I tend to use bb cream instead of foundation since it’s so light on the skin xx
They would be an amazing option for me as well but I haven’t found one that doesn’t make me oily ???
