Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review of the Sephora Beauty Amplifier Smoothing Translucent Setting Powder.
I got this powder as a sample so my packaging looks different from the original, despite that the product inside is the same.
I don’t know why it took me so long to try loose powders and I’m still absolutely in love with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder but as you know I like to try new things especially when I haven’t heard much about it.
I don’t know much about the Sephora own brand mainly because if I go to Sephora I’m super distracted by everything else that they never really sparked my attention.
You can get this powder here for 16$.
PACKAGING
For obvious reasons, I will talk about the full-size packaging.
It comes with a soft net instead of a plastic cup which in my opinion can get really messy. In the cup, it has a sort of stopper which makes it hard to pour the powder in the cap to pick it up so overall the packaging is not something I like.
FORMULA
This powder has a very strong scent, it kind of smells like glue, which I really don’t like.
It’s definitely white but it looks translucent on the skin. The first ingredient is silica which means that it will look amazing on the skin but the flashback is terrible, if you take photos with flash you will look like you put flour on your face.
APPLICATION
I like to apply powder with a wet sponge, but this one looks super patchy when I do it so I use a fluffy brush.
EFFECT
This powder makes my foundation look incredibly patchy and it’s too drying for my skin.
When I took the picture it didn’t look that bad but every time I used it grabbed the foundation and rubbed off in some spots, it was just patchy.
It is very matt but it looks very flat which is not the kind of look I want if you have more oily skin you might like that.
LASTING POWER
Since it’s so matt it lasted on me about 6 hours before I needed to reapply it.
RATINGS:
- Effect: 6/10
- Longevity: 8/10
- Application: 5/10
- Texture: 5/10
- Pigmentation: 5/10
- Packaging: 6/10
GRADE: D+
This powder is nice when you manage to not make it patchy but it’s almost impossible to. It is very matt and smooth but I don’t like the packaging, the scent is terrible and the flashback is a strong downside. I mean I don’t ever get flash photos but I would feel concerned that people might see a white cast on my face.

This is the one of the best product to invest your money in. Good pick of the day Mimi!!!
Setting powder is a must and I agree investing in it is so much better, the too faced peach perfect is way better than this and the quality is top notch!
Thanks for the honest feedback. I guess will not be checking this out then 🙂

Great review! I hate when products like this have any scent too.
Omg this is so bad!!!
Ugh, it looks like you found a dud there. I get so frustrated when that happens.
