Hi Darlings, today’s review is going to be of the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in Butter.
This powder came out at the same time as the concealer I’ve reviewed last week and just like that, I’m super excited to talk about it.
It comes in 8 different shades and it’s supposed to reduce shine and blur the look of pores, fines lines, and imperfections.
You can get it from Sephora for 32$
PACKAGING
The packaging is absolutely stunning and luxurious I totally love it, on my vanity, it looks amazing.
It comes in a cardboard box with this graffiti effect, I love it too, I usually throw away external packaging but this is so pretty I have to keep it.
The pot itself is quite big and bulky but it contains A LOT of product.
It also comes with a separate plastic component you can use to close the holes so the powder doesn’t fly everywhere, sadly mine doesn’t work, I don’t know why but it keeps getting open and I’ve ended up with powder everywhere which is quite a problem if I keep it in my makeup bag.
FORMULA
The powder is very finely milled and soft, it has THE NICEST sweet scent which is quite intense. I love it but it might bother you.
It’s slightly tinted but it doesn’t change the colour of your foundation or your concealer.
APPLICATION
I like to apply it with a wet sponge, I find that this way it meshes with my skin a lot better.
It’s quite easy to apply the holes disperse the perfect amount of product and it’s not too fine to fly everywhere.
EFFECT
This powder looks amazing on my skin, I find that my pores are minimized, my face looks and feels like a rose petal especially from the distance.
It’s also very matt but it never looks cakey or powdery.
The only problem that I have with it is that I can’t use it to bake it. It’s almost too heavy and it tends to create heavy patches on the skin.
LASTING POWER
It lasts for about 4 hours before I have to reapply it which is not ideal for me, the skin looks smooth but it doesn’t keep me matt for long.
RATINGS:
- Effect: 8/10
- Longevity: 7/10
- Application: 7/10
- Texture: 7/10
- Pigmentation: 7/10
- Packaging: 9/10
GRADE: B–
This powder is ok, I was expecting to like it more. The packaging is stunning and there is a lot of product inside but since the separate lid doesn’t work for me I can’t keep it in my make up bag. I also can’t use it for baking which I really don’t like. Apart from that, I like it, the effect on the skin is beautiful and it makes my skin look nice but I wish it lasted longer. Honestly, for that price, I wouldn’t recommend it, not because it’s bad but I don’t think it’s worth it.

The packaging is really lovely, but it’s a shame that it keeps opening up because that would make it really difficult to travel with you in a makeup bag. I do love a good matte powder though so its nice to keep one on the vanity.
I totally agree with you! Luckily the packaging of this is so pretty I don’t mind xx
oh loved reading this post. I’ve read so many great things about this brand!
They have some amazing things xx
Looks like the perfect lightweight powder!
It’s quite nice ?
The packaging alone is gorgeous! With setting powders, I definitely think it’s hard to beat Laura Merciers!
I actually never tried that because Laura Mercier is tricky to find here but I’d love to xx
