Today’s review is going to be of the Sephora Collection #LIPSTORIES Lipstick in the shade 22 A Little Magic.
I don’t know much about this range but as far as I’ve seen on the site it comes in three different finishes (matte, metallic and satin) and each lipstick has a different packaging.
This shade is supposed to be part of the Matte range. Each shade also has a concept story you can see on the site, this one is in the HASHTAG THROWBACK story:
“Dive into that nostalgic feeling with shades that’ll inspire your future #TBT pics.”
That’s such a cute idea! I didn’t found out until I started typing this review.
You can get it from Sephora for 8$.
It’s a warm toned red, it’s definitely warmer than it looks in the bullet.
The packaging is cute, not my personal favourite but I like that each shade has a different one and somehow I like that is cardboard.
FORMULA & APPLICATION
The formula is very creamy and it glides on really easily, it’s very thin but it’s patchy and it tends to create weird spots of colour.
It’s also supposed to be matte and it’s not by any means, actually is quite shiny which is so disappointing to me because I’d never wear a shiny red, I would be too scared to find it all over my face.
It tends to bleed too.
This lipstick lasts for 2 hours on me (without eating), since it’s so shiny I wasn’t expecting an incredible lasting time and apart from that, it smudges as soon as you touch it.
- Colour: 5/10
- Longevity: 5/10
- Application: 6/10
- Pigmentation: 7/10
- Comfort: 7/10
- Packaging: 8/10
This lipstick is a disaster for me, it wasn’t matte so it shouldn’t claim so loudly to be, the formula is patchy and it bleeds, the colour looks terrible on me too, it’s such a tricky product. It looks matte and cool toned but it’s the opposite as soon as you put it on. I feel deceived by it. Plus, since it’s so shiny, I’m scared it would smudge all over my face and I can’t live with that fear.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question.
