Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in the shade Mannequin.
After hearing Jaclyn Hill talking about it I knew I had to have it, I’ve always wanted to try JSC, as I said in my review of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blue Balls Liquid Frost, and this lipstick was on my To-Try list.
I want more, it’s not even a joke, I’ve been wearing this lipstick NO-STOP since I bought it and I’m not even the biggest liquid lipstick lover, but this, this has my heart and I want more shades so if you have any recommendation please send them my way.
You can get it from jeffreestarcosmetics.com for 18$
COLOUR
It is a light cool toned nude and it’s perfect for my skin tone, I have to use a bit of lip liner with it otherwise it looks weird but I don’t mind it.
PACKAGING
The packaging is shot tube in hard plastic. I don’t really love the bright pink but when I got it I was surprised by how fancy it felt. The shade name is on the bottom of the packaging.
The scent is quite different from anything I’ve ever tried, I can’t remember if Jeffree ever said what it was but to me is minty and a bit medicine like, I kind of like it.
FORMULA & APPLICATION
It has a doe foot applicator with a tiny hole in the middle that stores product, I really like because it’s super easy to use, it doesn’t pick up too much product and it’s very precise.
The formula is super high pigmented, it’s creamy but matt and it goes on like a feather, it’s so lightweight and comfortable. It’s not sticky and not too drying on me (but I’m very lucky, my lips don’t really get chapped easily).
It goes on super a bit patchy on me but it’s easy to fix and it meshes with the lips becoming one with them and I personally don’t feel it on.
SWATCH
LASTING POWER
Once it dries it lasts for about 7 hours it’s quite hard to remove (you’ll need an oil based make up remover), it will come off in the centre of your lips if you eat but it’s almost the same shade of my lips so if it fades I don’t really see it from the distance which adds to the lasting power.

GRADE: A
This liquid lipstick is amazing, I love the thin formula even if it’s a bit patchy because I can easily fix it and I don’t find it particularly drying. The applicator is easy to use and I like that is super rich in colour. I love the shade and the scent. I’m very impressed with it and if I have the occasion I would love to buy more.

I used to have Rose Matter, and I did like Jeffree’s formula a lot. The color ended up being a bit too bright for me, so I decluttered it. I kinda wish one day he’d go into more stores so I could swatch the colors. I don’t have any Morphe stores around me!
I wish there was actually a store here, I’d love to try more shades!
Me too!
I’ve only used his eyeshadows but I love liquid lipsticks so I am checking this out for sure!
I’ve never tried his eyeshadows! His palettes are too bright for me ?
I need a new lip color! This one looks like a great product, and I love the packaging!
It’s so pretty! x
I’ve heard so many great things about his liquid lipsticks!
It’s totally worth the hype
I have yet to try a liquid lipstick – I know, I can’t believe I still haven’t gone liquid yet! This one seems amazing and I love that it stays put.
I hope it’ll give you a good push to try them x
Very nice ? I’ve never tried anything from Jeffree, but maybe I’ll put some things on my birthday list this year!
You’ll love this liquid lipstick xx
I really like this kind of shades for lispticks! Neutral but still it pops ?
Seriously in love with it ?
