Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Nars Orgasm Liquid Highlighter.
This liquid highlighter is part of this years’ NARS Orgasm Collection and it can be used mixed in with foundation or on its own.
This is the second year Nars comes out with a collection dedicated to the Orgasm shade, last year I got the Nars Afterglow Lip Balm which I can’t wait to use again this year.
You can get it from narscosmetics.com for 30$.
The shade Orgasm is pretty iconic for Nars, in case you are not familiar with it, it’s a peachy pink with a gold reflex that looks good on almost all skin tones.
The packaging is rose gold perfection, everything from the box to the bottle is metallic rose gold, it is very heavy and very sturdy, I love it.
To open it you just twist the cap and the top pops up so you can use the pipette.
The bottle contains only 15ml of product and for that price is not worth it.
The dropper is cute but maybe mine is slightly defective because it’s hard to click and I always end up squirting too much on my hand.
You can apply it with your fingers, or a brush or a sponge.
This product is terrible. The formula is incredibly oily and sheer, it’s not shiny at all. I’ve tried to apply it in many different ways and only one works.
- Mixed with foundation: from the photo you can see that since is so oily it doesn’t mix well with foundation, I’ve tried multiple ones and this is the result I always get.
- As highlighter: Same as the first method, once you put it on top of foundation it dissolves it creating a bald patch of skin, as you can see in the photo.
- Alone: sadly this method doesn’t work either because it’s not shiny enough to be noticeable. As you can see once is blended is completely sheer.
- Mixed with moisturizer: this is the only method that works for me and I really like the soft glow it gives to the skin once is blended out.
Since as soon as I put it on it ruined my make up, I couldn’t keep it on to test the lasting power.
- Colour: 7/10
- Longevity: 3/10
- Application: 5/10
- Formula: 2/10
- Pigmentation: 5/10
- Packaging: 6/10
This liquid highlighter is terrible, the packaging is tricky to use and too tiny. The formula is bad and you can’t use it because it ruins the make up. I like it mixed with my face cream but the price is too high to use it only for that. Complete pass.
