Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatches of the Smashbox Covershot Eye Shadow Palette in the shade Desert.
I promise I’ll stop after this week with Smashbox reviews but these two palettes (the other one I’ll review on Friday) just arrived in the stores and I wanted to chat about them with you.
This more green one is my personal favourite because it has a good mix of fun shades and neutral ones. Plus, no one ever talks about this palettes but they are so nice!

PACKAGING
I don’t really know how to explain it but the packaging is adorable, the top part has one of those pictures that switch if you move it and the design is like an eyeshadow explosion, basically it moves.
You have to bigger shades on the top part which are allegedly those you’ll use more and three at the bottom.
You can also consider them as two palettes in one, one on the left and one on the right (it goes without saying that you can use each colour, however you want).
PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
I find the mattes are a really good base for any look. They are incredibly buttery and they blend like a DREAM.
The shimmers are stunning too, and all the shades are richly pigmented and super buttery.
APPLICATION
The shades really compliment each other and they blended SO easily.
I think the shimmers work best when they are damp or applied with the fingers but that’s usually the case with shimmer shadows
SWATCH
LOOKS
This look was done with: Casita in the crease, Baked Clay in the outer corner and Road Trip on the lid.
I’ve used Suede in the crease, Saguaro in the outer corner, Prickly Pear on the lid and Stargazing in the inner corner.
LASTING POWER
With a primer, these eyeshadows last about 8 hours before fading, but I don’t tend to wear make up for longer than that anyway.

GRADE: A
I don’t know what to say, I love this palette. The shade range, the pigmentation, the blendability and packaging. I love it. I love that you can use it to create more everyday looks and more colourful ones. I think it’s such a good option for the price it has.

What a comprehensive review – this review could become a chapter in a makeup textbook ?All the shades in the palette are warm coppery terracotta feeling shades which are so in trend right now.
This looks like such an amazing product! I’m always trying to find new items to add to my makeup bag to switch up my looks from a solid “everyday” go-to, and I love Smashbox products. This would be a great addition!

The shades in that palette are simply beautiful! So neutral as I love it and the shimmery shades would be quite muted for my skin – I love it that way too. It’s nice that they last that long- would be enough for a complete day in makeup. You look good lovely!

Yeah, I think I saw it only a few times but I never looked closely at it!
They are overall a great line, their black eye pencil is BOMB! If you are ever around you have to swatch it. It’s super creamy but once it dries it doesn’t move.
