Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatches of the Smashbox Covershot Eye Shadow Palette in the shade Denim.
This is the second new palette from Smashbox (the other one is the one I’ve reviewed on Wednesday) this one has on blue tones.
I don’t have much more to tell you so I’ll ask you, how are you doing? I’m insanely busy at work but I love it.

PACKAGING
I don’t really know how to explain it but the packaging is adorable, the top part has one of those pictures that switch if you move it and the design is like an eyeshadow explosion, basically it moves.
You have to bigger shades on the top part which are allegedly those you’ll use more and three at the bottom.
You can also consider them as two palettes in one, one on the left and one on the right (it goes without saying that you can use each colour, however you want).
PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
I find the mattes are a bit too chalky and patchy, I don’t know why but they don’t perform well (you’ll see it in the pictures), I don’t like them.
The shimmers are stunning though, and all the shades are richly pigmented and super buttery.
APPLICATION
I think the shimmers work best when they are damp or applied with the fingers but that’s usually the case with shimmer shadows

LOOKS
This look was done with: Vintage in the crease, Low Rise in the inner corner, Waisted on the lower lashline and Botton Fly on the lid.
I’ve used Stonewashed in the crease, Indigo in the outer corner, Ride Or Die on the lid and Studded in the inner corner and lower lashline.
LASTING POWER
With a primer, these eyeshadows last about 8 hours before fading, but I don’t tend to wear make up for longer than that anyway.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 10/10
- Application: 7/10
- Texture: 6/10
- Pigmentation: 7/10
- Packaging: 8/10
GRADE: B-
This palette has some pretty shimmers but the mattes are bad and hard to work with. The packaging is pretty and the shade range is stunning but I don’t think is necessarily a must. If you like it, you are probably going to enjoy it, especially for the shimmer shades. The lasting power is good.

Disappointing about the mattes here, but love the color story! This one seems more of a summer palette to me.

Smashbox is one of my favorite brands. Their eyeshadows are super pigmented.

I love the ride or dye and the indigo eyeshadow. They are absolutely gorgeous! It sucks that the mattes aren’t easy to work with though. It’s a shame because at first glance.. I kind of wanted this palette.
