Hi Darlings, in today’s post I’m going to share with you my The Ordinary Must Haves.
I’m very prepared on the argument because it’s an exclusive at the store I work in and I have to sell it, which mean I have to know the product. Luckily I love it too.
I’ve been using them since 2017, but ever since I got it at work I started really trying the line and I love giving clients skincare routines specifics for them.
About The Ordinary
If you know the brand you can skip this part, but if you don’t know them here’s my introduction.
The Ordinary is part of Deciem, a Canadian company who owns 8 other different brands. Their goal is to create a skincare line with essential products that actually work.
They offer different treatments with pure active ingredients, such as Vitamin C, Retinol and antioxidants, in simple and basic packaging with a super affordable price.
The best way to use their products is to combine them to create the perfect mix for your skin. If you want more tips on that, let me know. I can create a post with routines for every skintype.
My The Ordinary Must Haves
I’ve tried a lot from the line but I’ve narrowed down to three must haves that I can actually see a difference with, which is honestly so rare for me with skincare but THESE WORK.
Glycolic Acid is an AHA acid which exfoliates the surface of the skin. It’s soluble in water, hydrating, illuminating and anti aging. It works on normal to dry skin.
The Glycolic Acid is a toner you have to use at night (only at night) and it slightly exfoliates the skin. It stings a little bit but afterwards, my skin is so glowy and bright it kind of shocked me a bit.
My pores are so tight and overall the skin looks plumper.
Pro tip: use bigger cotton rounds, I don’t know why but it works better with those.
Caffeine has draining and energizing properties so it works amazingly to fight bags, dark circles and signs of aging. Combined with other elements it can have a brightening effect as well. EGCG is green tea extract and it’s an incredible antioxidant.
The Caffeine Solution doesn’t replace my eye cream but in the morning, when I’m super puffy and my dark circles are popping, I add a drop of it to the cream and in five minutes I see the difference.
Again, kind of impressing if you ask me. I sleep on my side so usually when I wake up one eye is puffier than the other so this really helps me with that
I also think it makes me look less tired and my makeup glides on more smoothly on top of it.
Pro tip: keep it in the fridge to maximize its effect.
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin’s topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. It helps fight visible blemishes and for improved skin radiance. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with continued use.
Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? I had severe acne since I was 12 and this really helped me to fight the scars I had left.
It takes a while to see the results but in the immediate, you can see a brighter complexion and tighter pores.
Pro tip: Be careful with it: Build up your tolerance to it, start using it once every 10 days and increase to once a week.
It might sting the first few times, it’s normal, but keep it on for less time if it really hurts. Don’t EVER keep it on for more than 10 minutes.
USE SUNSCREEN afterwards. Use it only at night on COMPLETELY DRY SKIN and hydrate after.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question.
