Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Chanel Eclat Du Desert Illuminating Powder.
This highlighter is part of the Chanel Desert Dream Collection and in my opinion, not the most exciting piece of the collection.
Personally I like more blinding products and this is very subtle, maybe it could work on more mature skin.
You can get it here for 70$
COLOUR
It’s a very subtle pinky champagne. It’s a very flattering colour.
PACKAGING
The packaging is absolutely stunning and luxurious I totally love it.
It comes in a cardboard box and a velvet pouch. I know some people throw it away but I like to keep it, makes me feel real fancy!
It also comes with a tiny brush, which, for the price, is a nice added touch. It’s very soft and it disperses powder really beautifully.
The design on the powder itself is very pretty too.

PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
The formula is quite stiff in the pan and very powdery, I feel like it looks better swatched than it does when you apply it with a brush.
It has sheer coverage and you have to layer it which it’s a bit of a waste for such an expensive product, especially because the result on it’s quite underwhelming and bland.
It doesn’t enhance texture and pores.
SWATCH

LASTING POWER
On me, it lasts around 6 hours before starting to fade.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 8/10
- Longevity: 6/10
- Application: 6/10
- Texture: 6/10
- Pigmentation: 6/10
- Packaging: 10/10
GRADE: C+
This highlighter is such a disappointment. It looks beautiful but it’s so damn expensive I want the perfect quality from it. The formula is very bland, it looks good swatched but if you use a brush is very sheer and almost invisible. The lasting power isn’t satisfying too. This highlighter is 70$ and it’s really not worth it.

Thank you for letting us know! I’d hate to spend $70 on something that didn’t work that great.
Thank you for reading ?
Mature skin? That would be me! I love the color and the sparkle to it!
Yeah that’s awesome x
The velvet pouch would make me feel fancy too LOL! looks like a pretty color, love the shimmer!
Love the pouch ahahha
Guarda io mi trovo benissimo con i prodotti in crema o in stick. Non spenderei mai una tale cifra per un illuminante…
Si posso capirlo
Such a bummer but I’m glad you’re putting your honest review out there! I need a good highlighter but this doesn’t seem worth the $70 that’s for sure.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Chanel does very blinding highlights ever. $70 is insane nowadays for a highlighter, especially when it’s subtle like that! You can go to ColourPop or Wet n’ Wild and be done!
Agree! I think that maybe subtle highlighter are classier and with Chanel being a more chic brand it kind of works. But I don’t like it ahahah
Have you tried wetting it and seeing the effect? Maybe it still can be salvaged?
It’s ok for my mum so I gave her, I like more sparkles anyway ??
