Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in the shade Rosé.
I’ve heard people talking about Fresh for years but it just arrived in Italy last month, so I finally got to try it first hand.
The lip balms were the first products on my list but of course I’m open to try more so let me know what should I test next?
I got the shade Rosè but I’m definitely eyeing Petal too and you know how I feel about fancy lip balms.
You can get if from Sephora for 24$
COLOUR
The shade Rosè is a sheer rose.
PACKAGING
One of the things that most stood out to me is the packaging, it’s so PRETTY and very luxurious, it comes in a cardboard box, it’s heavy, the top is a twist up, which I think makes it very fancy and I absolutely love the rose bullet.
Of course, it’s not all about the packaging but when I opened it the first time I was so surprised of how nice it looks, definitely more high end than a regular chapstick, as you would expect since it’s more expensive.

FORMULA & APPLICATION
The formula is very creamy and it glides on really easily, it’s very thin and it doesn’t feel sticky on the lips, the finish is shiny.
According to Sephora, it contains:
– Sugar: A natural humectant known to prevent moisture loss.
– Meadowfoam and Black Currant Seed Oils: Help moisturize.
– Grapeseed Oil: Helps to smooth and soften and is rich in antioxidants known to protect from damaging free radicals.
I find it quite hydrating but it’s not the best lip balm I’ve ever tried.
The only con I can find is the taste: when you put it on it tastes and smells lemon but you can feel the sunscreen in it.

LASTING POWER
This lip balm lasts for 2 hours on me (without eating), since it’s so shiny I wasn’t expecting an incredible lasting time, but you can reapply it really easily.
RATING:
- Colour: 7/10
- Longevity: 7/10
- Application: 8/10
- Pigmentation: 8/10
- Comfort: 8/10
- Packaging: 10/10
GRADE: B–
I really like this lip balm, but it’s way overpriced for what it is. The packaging is stunning and honestly, I’m happy to have it only for that reason. Overall I like the formula but I wish it was more hydrating. I really don’t like the taste but I’ve still been using it a lot. It’s the perfect product to throw on on-the-go for just a bit of moisture and colour.

Sephora has sent me a few different samples from this line and they always work very well. Ultimately, I’m convinced that I can find something from the drugstore that is just as good because I’m cheap. So far, no luck. My lips have really been bothering me this week out of the blue. I may have to go back to the Fresh line!

I’m definitely a lip balm girl so I like to invest in them. It’s not even much about the quality most times, I just love how fancy lip balms feel XD
Oh it sounds like a nice one to have & I agree it’s very pretty x
Seriously a purse staple
I expected more from this lip balm to be honest! It doesn’t sound bad but I would only purchase this if it’s discounted after reading your review. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for reading ??
That is SO pretty! I love how subtle it is. Lately I’ve been going for more subtle shades and think they look better on me because of my age.
And it’s hydrating too!
I like that it adds a little color. I have a hard time with lip stuff that has sunscreen in it. It always leaves such a bad taste in my mouth.
Yeah, I always struggle with it too
It is always so interesting to see what brands are available in different countries. Even though Fresh is a UK brand, we’ve had it in the States for a while… whereas NABLA is just starting to enter the US market (and I’m obsessed). My first order from NABLA arrived to me quicker than some US brands lol!
I can totally see how you may find this balm overpriced for what it is, but if you struggle with dry lips I highly recommend the Fresh Lip Therapy Advanced Treatment. It is a miracle worker when it comes to healing dry lips and nourishing them!! Still expensive, but one of the best lip healing products I’ve tried. This formula is more hydrating than the tinted balms.
Nabla is Italian right? I’ve never tried anything yet but their palettes look stunning. Luckily I don’t struggle with dry lips I just love the feeling of lip balms on hahaha but is good to know
They are an Italian brand!! They’ve been growing in popularity in the indie beauty scene in the US, but have made a much bigger mainstream push this last year by selling through Ulta and Morphe.
I know I can get it at Sephora here, what do you recommend?
So far, I’ve tried 2 of their skin glazing highlighters (Ozone and Privilege) and and 2 palettes (the Dreamy 2 and the Coral Cutie).
Of the highlighters, Ozone is the one I prefer because of the wet-looking glow that it gives the skin. Privilege has a pinker undertone so it doesn’t look as natural. But this highlighter line has sold out repeatedly at Ulta!!
I’ve enjoyed both palettes, but the Dreamy 2 is the one I reach for more frequently. It’s a nice mix of neutral and colorful shades. But I really love how the brand plays with different textures and formulas. Nabla makes a really unique glittery metallic formula called a “Super Sparkle” and this interesting, creamy (almost bouncy) Latex Matte formula. I’m not sure which of their older palettes has those new formulas though.
Ok I’ve screenshot ed the comment so when I’m shopping I know what to get
Just wanted to say that I love your blog so far and props to you for speaking multiple languages! That is a skill I wish I had.
Thank you so much! You can totally learn too ?
I am working on it but it’s been a very slow process! How many languages can you speak?
Italian and English, but I also understand Spanish quite well because my nanny used to talk to me in Spanish but I don’t speak it
That’s lovely! Who knows, you might learn more over time as well
Haven’t tried these balms from Fresh before, but I know a lot of people rave about them. Bummer that they’re not as hydrating as you’d like though!
With that I mean, they are hydrating enough for the day but not for night time. I realise I should have said that better
Ah I see!
I LOVE this product! I’ve been using it for a few years. This color is new to me so I’ll have to pick it up!
It’s so pretty ?
