Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review of the Catrice Eyeconista Mascara.
I actually have the waterproof one because I normally like it more, it holds the curl of my lashes better than most regular mascaras do.
This mascara apparently is really popular, I have never tried a Catrice mascara but it was very affordable so I though why not?
You can get it here for about 5$.
PACKAGING
The packaging is pretty classic for a mascara.
The brush is very specific. It’s a silicon wand, it’s curved on the top and bottom the bristles are short and really tightly packed. On the sides the bristles are longer and more sparse.
I’ve tried to look online for the correct way to use it but I didn’t found anything.
FORMULA
The formula is quite thick and very black, if you are not careful it tends to transfer on your lids when you apply it.
EFFECT & APPLICATION
I always do two coats to get the best results. I start with the shorter bristles and then brush through with the longest but I think the brush picks up too much product and it’s very clumpy.
I really don’t like the way it looks on me: it doesn’t do much for my lashes, it doesn’t really lengthen or volumize them nor I find it particularly good at holding a curl I’ve made with the eyelash curler.
As you can see from the pictures my lashes just look more black and very messy.

LASTING POWER
Since I got the waterproof version this mascara lasts all day on me without flaking or smudging.
I find it fairly easy to remove, I don’t have the black halo around my eyes when I wake up.
RATING:
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 9/10
- Application: 5/10
- Packaging: 7/10
- Effect: 5/10
- Formula: 5/10
GRADE: D+
I think is obvious that I don’t like this mascara at all. It could work for you if you only need a lengthening one. It just makes my lashes so bad, they look kind of clumpy and messy. The packaging is cute but I don’t understand the brush and although it looked interesting I just don’t understand it.

I was really excited when I started reading this review because it’s so affordable…. I’m so sad it didn’t turn out well! I agree with you that it looks pretty clumpy, although I like how black it is. The rest of your makeup looks so good it almost doesn’t matter on you 🙂
Awww thank you, I’m definitely looking for more affordable options lately so keep your eyes open 😉
Ooof! I agree with you. I don’t think this mascara does anything for your lashes. Thanks for the honest review. I’ll skip this one.
Thank you for reading xx
I was holding out so much hope for this mascara but the clumpiness is such a no-goo for me!
Agree!
Thank you for your honesty in this review! In my experience, you get what you pay for, at least when it comes to mascara.
I don’t think that’s necessarily true, there are some good affordable mascaras out there but it wasn’t the case for this one
I can totally see why you don’t like it! It makes your lashes very black, though! I have yet to try a curved mascara brush, it sounds cool! ?
I usually like those brushes but this one is a pass
Darn, sorry this one is such a bummer. There’s so many mascaras out there, you really have to search far for the good ones!
Agree!
