Mascara: Save or Splurge? Why?
Mimi: Save, mostly. For 15 years I’ve only used affordable mascaras and I still stand behind that, you don’t need to splurge for a good mascara. My absolute top is the L’Oreal Bambi Eye False Lash Mascara (here the review).
That being said, if you have been around for a few months you’d know I’ve been obsessed with the YSL The Shock Volumizing Waterproof Mascara (here the review) which is insanely pricey. No mascara compares and I think I’ve found the one for me but you don’t need to spend if you don’t want to.
Julia: Save, Maybelline has some amazing ones (the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara is my favourite), plus it’s not even convenient to splurge because they dry after a few months.

I have always loved Maybelline’s mascara- the one in the green and pink tube. It’s so perfect on the lashes AND budget. SAVE!
That’s the OG mascara but I actually have never tried it ahahha
I don’t think I’ve ever splurged on mascara. I don’t really see the difference in results.
Yeah the drugstore has so good options!
I haven’t worn mascara in years. I believe my daughter uses a L’Oreal one that she loves as well!
L’Oréal mascaras are awesome!
Rimmel is my “steal” mascara, its really good in a pinch! But Maybelline will forever always be a good brand to use!

Totally on the save side! There are so many good affordable mascaras out there. I love the L’Oreal Bambi Eye too, and the Maybelline Total Temptation as well.

I have Youniques Epic mascara and I also love It Cosmetics Super Hero mascara. They are both kind of a splurge so I’m all about splurges for those lashes.

My favourite mascara of all time is the Lancome Monsieur Big. I do think affordable mascaras can give a similar effect but what I love about it is that it still looks great even when it’s been open for months- sometimes mascaras dry up quick.
Monsieur Big doesn’t look good on my lashes, like Better Than Sex. They look amazing on other people but not so much on me ?
I used to be all about saving when it comes to mascara because Maybelline mascaras have always been sooooo good! But eventually I became more boujee with my fave mascaras lol! But I’m fairly lucky since I can almost always get most mascara to work with my lashes.
BUT My all-time favorites are the Milk Kush Mascara, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl, Lancôme Hypnose Drama, and Benefit badGal Bang! ?
I like the dior one, don’t like the Lancôme one and never tried the other two! But I remember loving Lancôme Grandiose. Weirdest brush ever but maaaaan it was good?
Save as well for me! I think there are some very good mascaras that are pretty cheap so I don’t see the point in spending too much for it!
Agree! Once the ysl runs out (and the backup I have runs out too ?) I’ll go back to affordable
Mostly save. I love Maybelline and Max Factor mascaras. I bought more expensive mascara like Tarte or Estee Lauder a couple of times, but I don’t see much difference. So why spend more? Besides that, many shops give you testers of high-end mascara with a purchase.
Yeah I completely agree with you! Mini sizes are the best way to try mascaras too
