Today’s question is: “What do you think about pan projects? I see them often on Instagram when people try to finish palettes and other products completely”
Hi Darlings, so today’s post is going to be another: Mimi & Julia Ask.
Where we are going to ask you a beauty related question and we want to read your answers so make sure to leave a comment.
Thank you so much to Katja for today’s question!
If you have a question for next week you are free to ask and I’ll make sure include it in another post and to give you credit for it.
What do you think about pan projects? I see them often on Instagram, when people try to finish palettes and other products completely
Mimi: I actually think is awesome when people do it. I don’t think I’ll be able to do, especially with palettes but it’s actually amazing to see.
I usually finish face products like primers, foundations, concealer and powders and sometimes some my favourite lip products but it doesn’t happen often.
Julia: In my opinion, it’s an interesting idea, because you really use what you have, you don’t spend unnecessarily on new things that you don’t need… But make-up is also fun, if I have to use the same eyeshadow for three months it would make me feel depressed.
That being said, I’d like to try it too, because finishing a product is satisfying.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN: LEAVE US A COMMENT SO WE CAN START A CONVERSATION.

I had no idea what a pan project even was before I read this. I do know that I keep my makeup for a long time!
That’s probably good too!
What a cute idea! I haven’t heard of this before but it save me a lot of money if I tried it, that’s for sure.
Let me know how it goes!
I don’t believe I’ve ever finished a pan. I find my favorites and tend to toss the rest. Why wear a color you don’t feel absolutely beautiful in?
Agree!
I never heard of a pan project before! I do end up not finishing palettes so I guess I’ve never done a pan project.
Ahahah i guess not
I have to agree — I’m always intrigued by the end results!
Same!
I’m moderately intrigued by pan projects, but I’d say I’m more intrigued by empties!
But empties end up being mostly skincare no? I guess I get more excited if people finish makeup but I couldn’t do it 😂
Yes, that’s true, but I still find it more useful than showing people how much pan you’ve hit on an eyeshadow I guess. I know, using up makeup is hard! Besides mascaras and concealers, it damn near takes forever!
Yeah, I agree! But it takes me forever to finish concealer 😂
Hm, it depends for me. I get through the NARS Creamy really fast, I feel. But others, yes it feels like it can take forever!
I always end up buying big concealers like the too faced one and the dior one so they last me forever. I’ve used the TF one for over a year and I still have so much left!
You might not get through the TF one. I had it forever, it was still going, but I felt I had to declutter it. It was just too long. I just did that with my Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue too!
I moved from the TF one too. I have a lot left still but I definitely like the Dior one better
Thank you for featuring my question! I’m late to the party hehe Personally, I think it’s a good idea, it encourages conscious consumption and creativity (not only in color combos, but f.e. using eyeshadows as contour or blush). But tbh using up a palette is unrealistic for me, I don’t use much product and it would take me maybe a year of daily use. I don’t think I can be so committed:)
Thank you so much for asking dear! I couldn’t be that committed too 😂
Lololol I project pan – like you mentioned, there are some products I naturally finish while others are a struggle. I try to do yearlong / rotating projects so I don’t get bored but feel motivated to use up things that I know I’m unlikely to repurchase.
It totally makes sense! I wish I could do it but I barely put make up on at the moment XD
I was legit at like 18 finished products (just within my project) in March and then the last couple months I just like fell apart lol. 🙈
Well you stayed at home too so there were less occasions
I was super into it but I got bored using the same products. Haven’t bothered with doing another but I also dont really have a reason to wear makeup daily so I dont 🤷🏻♀️ I think if I had an in person job, I’d do my makeup more often. Lol
I would totally get bored too!
