Hi Darlings, in today’s post we are going to talk about the Best Mascara for Length & Volume.
Let me start with, I have really REALLY complicated lashes. Just like my hair, they are very thick and long which makes them insanely heavy so no matter how much I curl them, mascara weights them down and from the front, it looks like I have none.
In the past year, I’ve noticed that the only way around it is waterproof mascara but, as we all know, WP mascara is a pain to take off. From time to time though I find a mascara with a more lightweight formula that will work on me despite not being waterproof and I’m happy to tell you most of these mascaras aren’t.
Sooo are you ready to find out which are the best mascara for length & volume?
Do we like the same mascara?
First thing first, we have to figure out if we like the same mascara. My ideal mascara is:
- Lengthening
- Volumizing
- Holds The Curl
I find that waterproof mascaras do it better but it’s not necessarily true. Whether WP or not, my mascara needs to hold a curl.
- Fast Results
I don’t want to spend ages on my mascara. I want products that look good with max 2 coats.
- Long Lasting
I hate when mascara crumbles through the day or bleeds at the corner of the eyes so my mascara needs to be long lasting (again, not necessarily WP).
- Affordable
Although I have some more expensive options here, I don’t normally splurge on mascara because there are some incredible options out there that are super affordable.
Also, mascara expires quickly so I don’t want to splurge for something I have to replace frequently.
But since I never buy expensive mascaras for myself, I appreciate when people gift me expensive ones, they are almost a treat and that’s really the only reason there are two here.
Both were parts of Christmas presents but the affordable ones work just as well and you don’t need to splurge at all. I just put those expensive ones in case you want to.

Final Considerations
Since I think that in this case, a picture is worth more than a 1000 words I left you with the final results of this mascaras.
All of them were used after curling my lashes with an eyelash curler and after thigh lining (black eyeliner in the upper inner rhyme).

I rarely wear mascara, but I really do NEED it as my lashes are short and sparse! So these reviews are helpful. I like the look of Maybelline and Marc Jacobs best.

They are both awesome!

Ooooh I’m so tempted to try one of these!! But I’ve been pretty happy with Maybelline Big Colossal for a while now, scared to venture out!

My favorite is It Cosmetics superhero…I’m definitely wanting to try that YSL Shock mascara though. I have the tiniest lashes and other than falsies or extensions I need something that gives me a longer look for sure!

Superhero is one of those that weight my lashes down so it doesn’t work on me! My friend loves it though!

OMG WOWOW – these mascaras made your lashes look like falsies but in the most natural way. Like damn. I need to place an order for the three drugstore ones ASAP once my No Buy ends (which I’m actually doing well with so far)!!
Mimi dice
I’m so proud of you and yeah you need them! Idk if your eyes are as sensitive as your face but the Maybelline one is scented so be careful
The Newbury Girl dice
I’ve been testing more makeup lately and what I’ve found is that if I lay a base of skincare that is not irritating / not scented, it helps form a barrier on my skin. But thank you for letting me know!! Def gonna see how things go as I continue to test what I already own during my No Buy.

Well you know I love the Maybelline and the L’Oreal ones you mention here, but I need to find and try out that Essence one! I’ve also been super curious to try the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir since it launched, but I haven’t done a Sephora haul since before COVID sadly.
