Hi Darlings, in today’s post I’m going to share with you How and What To Buy For A Beauty Lover.
Despite what people think, is not easy to buy a gift for a beauty lover, because chances are that they know what is going on in the beauty world so buying one of those “Do-It-All” palettes is the worst thing you can do.
Literally, unless you are buying for a 10 years old girl, DON’T. BUY. THEM.
But of course, I know it’s not easy to navigate the vast sea that is Sephora / Ulta / or any other beauty store, so I’m here to tell you not only what to buy, but also, HOW to buy, in case you don’t like what I recommend, or you don’t want to buy online, that way, wherever you go, you’ll make the right choice.
How and What To Buy For A Beauty Lover?
In the matter of How and What To Buy For A Beauty Lover you can go to two different routes with this.
1. Gifts they NEED but wouldn’t buy for themselves
For whatever reason, for example: too expensive. In this case you have to know what the person needs.
Are they almost out of their perfume? Then a perfume gift set is what you can get, guarantee you have to know their fragrance otherwise it could go terribly wrong.
But they usually come in pretty boxes with something else (body lotion, travel size) and they always look nice. Get them here.

I personally wouldn’t go with skincare because that’s too personal so unless you really know what they use, I’d avoid it.
If you know their makeup tastes you can get them a kit to try multiple products from a brand they like or want to try.
My choices would be the:
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Lip Set
(45$)

Pillow Talk is a worldwide bestseller shade and if the person you are buying for likes lipstick, I guarantee they’ll love it because they’ll have the opportunity to try something they “heard so much about”.
FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna Fenty Glow Trio Face Lip & Body Set
(42$)

Fenty Glow is another universally flattering shade, the gloss is a bestseller (and I personally love it) so I know I’d love to try the highlighter and the blush version that are only available in this kit.
Even if they are not curious about these product, every beauty lover would love to try the gloss that has been on everybody’s mouth since it came out, in more ways than one.
An Eyeshadow Palette

There’s literally a palette coming out everyday but nothing beats receiving one, especially if the person receiving already has a lot and probably wouldn’t buy it for themselves because, as I said, they have a lot.
Just make sure you are getting a good one, you can look at the reviews, or look at the most recent one, or the bestsellers but please, DON’T BUY THE BIG DO-IT-ALL ONES they sell during the holidays.
Every single beauty lover would rather have a more expensive one with fewer shades than a big one with 50 crappy eyeshadows. Like Natasha Denona has mini palettes that star at 25$, go with that. You’ll at least buy something that won’t end up in the trash.

2. Something they WANT but wouldn’t buy for themselves
That could be because it’s too gimmicky or not necessary. Like for example something trendy or something you wouldn’t necessarily get for yourself.
Here are some examples of things, I’d buy or love to receive (I actually have all of them and I’d have been happy to receive them).
Makeup Brushes
(from about 20$ to 200$ depends on the set)

Brushes are that thing that every beauty lover needs but they are so unexciting no one wants to buy them. So what better thing than to gift them?
There are some seriously pretty sets on different price ranges but I personally swear by Zoeva Brushes. The one above is the Zoeva Rose Golden Vol.2 Luxury Brush Set which I absolutely love but any of them are amazing.
Rose Quartz Facial SPA Set
(39,90$ but you can find less expensive ones)

Is there anything more gimmicky than face rollers? I don’t think so. But I got one a couple of months ago and I love it.
I don’t have a very sculpted face, partly is because I’m a bit overweight and partly because of my bone structure, but I’ve seriously noticed that using the roller on my jaw line has made it more defined than it has ever been. I’ve also lost weight but I still think it works.
I also absolutely LOVE to use the tinier roller on my under eye in the morning because it’s cold and it de-puffs them.
Tangle Teezer Smashed Holo Pink Compact Styler
(16$)

I know hair brushes might be a weird gift but Tangle Teezer often comes out with the prettiest holiday hair brushes that look beautiful and are not too pricey. You can get them as a stocking stuffer or a small present.
They can be used on wet or dry hair and in Italy, gifting a hair brush brings luck.
MARIO BADESCU FRESH FACE FAVORITES DUO
(10,50$)

I love this little kit, I actually bought it myself multiple times because for the price of the spray you basically get a free lip balm. Both products are amazing and a really nice and affordable idea, just like the hair brush.
Gift Card

Lastly, If you can’t decide, I still swear by GIFT CARDS, they are an option for a reason and LITERALLY every store has them.
Sure opening a gift is nice but every beauty lover would rather have even just 10$ to spend in Sephora than a dumb hand cream you picked up at the checkout line just to buy something.

I do love gift giving (all year round), but when all these gift sets hit at this time of the year…. I confess………. I buy a lot for myself 😳 can’t resist! They’re so gorgeous!
Ahhaha same 😂
LOL I’m dying over the image with the big X over that do-it-all palette 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are 💯 right though about getting things we wouldn’t normally treat ourselves too! Also, I’d add to just ask the beauty lover what he / she wants lol. Like I just told my sis that I want the new Persona blush & lip liners lol!
That’s another great tip but I feel like that’s what gift cards are for. That way the person gives you something and you can get it yourself. No fuss.
What wonderful picks! Love it all.

Thank you 💕
These would be so useful for when I’m buying gifts for my mom!
Enjoy c
A gift card for Sephora is the best option, if it seems not personal enough add something like a lipbalm/hand cream set and a card. Or just ask, what they want. In many countries you can’t return beauty products, so I’d play safe.
You actually can’t in Italy if you open them so asking is a great idea!
These are really great gift ideas. I’m looking for something to buy for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I think she’s gonna love that facial spa kit. Thanks for idea!
You’re welcome x
I have some beauty lovers in my family that would LOVE some of these suggestions! I might have to get a few for myself!
It always goes like that 😂
I LOVE the idea of a pallette. It’s versatile enough that it would certainly be welcomed!
Agree! Such a good gift x
Great tips here. I’m totally with you on those big, oversized rainbow palettes with blushes, bronzers and everything else in them. Usually the quality is so crap!
I hate them so much!
