Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Dior BACKSTAGE Contour Palette.
I got this palette for Christmas after lusting after it for years, something about it was screaming to me so I was overjoyed when I opened it, since I wasn’t expecting it.
Bronzer is the least exciting product for me and when I find a good one I usually stick to it, even more so when it comes in such a complete palette, I knew I won’t need anything else.
You can buy it form Sephora for 45$.
The palette contains four shades:
- Highlighter Light: Satin Ivory, this is a bit too dark and not shimmery enough to use as highlighter on my face, but I love it on my brow bone or all over the lid as eyeshadow.
- Highlighter Deep: Satin Medium Brown, I use this as bronzer.
- Contour Light: Matte Medium Brown, I use this to contour my face.
- Contour Deep: Matte Dark Brown, I can use this only as eyeshadow, or I just tap in it once and add to my contour to deepen it a bit.
The packaging is stunning and chic. The palette is thin and easy to carry around.
It doesn’t come with a mirror but I don’t really care.
PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
The formula is super soft in the pan which makes the shades feel almost creamy.
It has medium coverage but it’s really easy to layer, I love it for everyday looks since it doesn’t look muddy.
They never look cakey or powdery, they don’t enhance texture and pores, not even the shimmer shades.
The colours look so natural on me like I’m actually tan.
They are really easy to apply and to blend, they mash with the skin becoming one with it.
On me, it lasts around 7 hours before starting to fade.
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 9/10
- Application: 9/10
- Formula: 10/10
- Pigmentation: 9/10
- Packaging: 9/10
I’m obsessed with this palette. I love the colours, but I wish the lighter and darker shades were slightly lighter, I can still use all of them but if they were lighter they would have been perfect. It applies and looks beautiful on the skin. I love the packaging and how easy to carry it is. With the different shades, it can work on a lot of skin tones but they should expand the range and maybe make this more for light skin, and make two more for dark and medium. They are expanding this range so we can hope they’ll add to it.
I really hope you guys enjoyed it, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know all your thoughts and if you have any question.
