Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Essence True Glow Ph Reacting Lip Balm.
As you might know, I’m a big fan of lip products that change with the PH, my favourite is by Dior but when I saw Essence came out with a new one I knew I had to give it a go.
You can buy it here for about 3$.
COLOUR
The colour in the tube is a light pink but it becomes a dark pink on the lips.
PACKAGING
The packaging is classic for a lipstick, but not fancy at all.
The scent is sweet and pleasent.

FORMULA & APPLICATION
The formula is very creamy and it glides on really easily, it’s very thin and it doesn’t feel sticky on the lips, the finish is shiny.
It glides on the lips and it doesn’t enhance fine lines, but the shade is a bit too Barbie pink for me and I have to blend it out with my finger (or I’ll end up looking like Magda from Something About Mary).
I find it quite hydrating but it’s not the best lip balm I’ve ever tried. I wouldn’t use it at night but it’s nice for the day time.
SWATCH

LASTING POWER
This lip balm lasts for 2 hours on me (without eating), since it’s so shiny I wasn’t expecting an incredible lasting time, but you can reapply it really easily.
RATING:
- Colour: 5/10
- Longevity: 7/10
- Application: 7/10
- Pigmentation: 6/10
- Formula: 7/10
- Packaging: 6/10
GRADE: B
This lip balm is nice but the shade is not my thing, it’s too bright and too pink, but other than that is ok. The formula is good and so is the application. The packaging is nothing special. Overall I think you can go without this product but if you like it, you won’t be disappointed.

I like the shade, but it might be a bit light for me. I am pretty pale so shades like this usually look odd on me. It’s nice that it’s not sticky!
It’s a very flattering shade
This shade is so cute! might look a litter weird on me since im so pale this time of year. i love that it not sticky i hate when you hair get stuck to your month!
Omg that’s the worst!
I’m not really love the shade, as you said it’s a bit too Barbie pink for my likings!
Yep not our kind of colour
I’m not a fan of pH color changing lip products. They always turn too pink on me!
It can happen, I usually love them but this is too pink even for me
E invece io trovo che questo colore ti sta benissimo sai? Su di me…già lo sai 🙂
È molto sfumato, non mi dispiace così ma non è il mio classico nude
Great review, though I think the color will be too light for my skin tone.
Actually I think you look great with this shade! (I definitely chuckled at your Something About Mary reference 😄.) It seems nearly all these color-changing-with-your-PH lip products turn a brighter pink, at least they do on me. But if the feeling on the lips is not super lush, I just don’t see the point of wearing it. Kinda like with the Rare Beauty lip balms; those could have been so much better!
I won’t lie – when I first saw how light and frosty this looked, I was afraid. However, the color on the lips is def much prettier than how it looks in the tub, but I totally agree that I likely wouldn’t wear a lippie that was this vibrant.
Yeah, it’s nice if you want to blend it out
