Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.
This concealer is such a best seller it doesn’t need an introduction but Tarte just arrived in Italy so I’ve decided it was time for me to try it too. I actually got it for my birthday but obviously, my opinion is not influenced at all by that.
Concealer is seriously a product that doesn’t excite me at all so when I find one I like I tend to stick with it. I’ve been using the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer since February 2020 and I loved it but once it runs out I was ready for a change.
This concealer comes in 35 shades, I have 20B Light and you can find it at Ulta for 29$
PACKAGING
The packaging is a round tube in hard plastic. It’s bigger than the average concealer (the average concealer is 7ml and this is 10ml).
The shade name is written on the bottom.
It comes in the classic purple box with all the info, I really like the way it’s packaged, it makes it super user-friendly and it’s also very pretty.
The applicator is a big doe-foot which I really like too. It picks up the right amount of product.

FORMULA
The concealer is nice a liquidy when you first apply it. It’s really easy to blend, I use a damp sponge but your fingertip will work too, and once it sets it becomes quite matt. That makes it quite long lasting but it tends to look heavy on me.
It works amazingly on the face, it doesn’t make the skin too dry or too oily, actually, it blends seemly with it.
EFFECT
As you can see I’m blessed with pretty light dark circles today but I have fine lines where my concealer tend to crease a lot.
It has high coverage, it covers perfectly but it can be a bit cakey especially if you have dry undereye like me. It blends seamlessly with your skin.

LASTING POWER
I usually use a powder on top I find that with a powder it doesn’t crease on me. It will last all day long.

GRADE: A–
I see why so many people love this concealer, it has a very high coverage, great packaging, it’s long lasting and has a good shade range but I don’t love it. It looks quite heavy on me and it’s a bit cakey, probably because my undereye is so dry. It’s fine now that we are in Summer but I don’t think I’ll be able to use it in Winter, I guess we’ll see.

It sounds perfect for my friend, she’ll love this as a gift.

I love Tarte cosmetics! Will have to give it a try!
I think you’ll like it x
I LOVE this Tarte concealer. It is my usual go-to
I’m glad you like it x
I’ve used this before and agree it’s too heavy for my liking. I know some people love it
It’s such a people favourite x
I’ve heard SO many great things about this product over the past year! I think I’m going to add it to my next Ulta haul!
Let me know how you like it!
none of the drugstore concealers i’ve tried work for me anymore, so this is definitely on my list next
I struggle with drugstore concealers too, it’s one of the item I always splurge on x
This product is iconic for a reason, so I’m not surprised you love it! You may also like the ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer too, fyi. Great coverage and super easy to blend! Don’t get the original Camo Concealer though; wayyy too dry and it just sticks to the skin, ugh.
My next elf haul I’ll give it a go x
