Maybelline Hyper Easy Liquid Liner | Review

Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Maybelline Hyper Easy Liquid Liner.

Ok, this is SO not a positive review, because there isn’t a single thing I like about this eyeliner.

I consider myself pretty good with eyeliner, I’ve been doing it for 10 years so I know my way around it so if an eyeliner doesn’t work on me, I know it’s the eyeliner’s fault. Especially a pen (because they are the ones I’m most talented with).

You can get this from Ulta for 8,99$ (the one linked is waterproof because there wasn’t a regular one on the site but I know mine isn’t).

PACKAGING

The packaging looks like a school pencil with pink details. While it’s easier to hold, it’s a pain to close because you have to make sure the lines are lined up if that makes sense.

And it has happened that I wasn’t careful and the lid fell. Now I know it’s not the biggest problem but since none of my liner does it, it’s pretty inconvenient to me.

It’s a brush tip liner which I normally don’t like but could use, in this case the bristles are so open that IMPOSSIBLE to get a small precise line, which is what I prefer.

FORMULA

The formula is very liquidy, YOU HAVE TO SHAKE IT WELL BEFORE APPLYING IT, and it tends to bleed a little bit on me. You can clearly see it in the pictures.

It’s shiney which I don’t like and it’s not an intense black, actually is almost grey which is a no.

This formula is, somehow, hard to remove and easy to smudge. Since I couldn’t do a smaller line and I’ve ended up with a bigger one, it ended up imprinting on my top lid but when I go to remove it’s incredibly hard.

APPLICATION

As I said, it’s a brush which I find so hard to use because it opens up and you can’t be precise, usually I can work with them even if they aren’t my first choice, this is unusable.

LASTING POWER

This eyeliner stamps everywhere and it bled a bit after I put it on. I have oilier lids and while I don’t like it, it has happened to me in the past, if I use a primer it lasts 6 hours.

But the worst part is that, it’s so hard to remove and I have to scrub my lids pretty hard, which is a no-no for me, I don’t want wrinkles, thank you very much.

GRADE: F

Pretty sure this is the worst rating I’ve ever given. I hate this eyeliner with a passion. The formula is grey and it bleeds, the packaging is hard to use, the application is so complicated is not even funny and it doesn’t last but it’s hard to remove.
