Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo.
I can’t even begin to tell you how long I’ve wanted this product for but when Charlotte Tilbury arrived in Italy last year I swatched it and it looked very light, way too light for my skin tone. So I gave up.
Then a couple of weeks ago, I was in the mood to treat myself and I was looking at the CT counter and my eye fell on it. It kept bugging me because a lot of people my skin tone or even darker loved this so I decided to get it anyway hoping it would work. Literally, everybody loves it.
You can buy it here for 68$ or you can get a mini here for 29$ and it comes in two shades.
COLOUR
It comes with two shades:
- Sculpt: a pale cool toned brown with a satin sheen
- Highlight: a subtle champagne
PACKAGING
The packaging is very insanely fancy. It comes in a box that is split in the middle and you have to unwrap it. The overall experience makes you feel so special, like you are treating yourself which for that price it’s much appreciated.
They also give you instructions on how to use it which, again, it’s very nice.
The compact itself is so beautiful and tastefully made. I love it.
PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
The formula is quite soft and smooth especially when you swatch it, it has light-medium pigmentation. You can build the colour up which is actually my preference.
It doesn’t have any fallout and it’s not too chalky. It doesn’t enhance pores or texture.
It’s a very subtle product, it looks very natural on which is beautiful and it turns out, the bronzer isn’t too light for me.
APPLICATION
I use a big brush and it’s the perfect way to create a sunkissed glow and a tiny one to highlight the high points of my face.
SWATCH
LASTING POWER
On me, it lasts around 7 hours before starting to fade.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 9/10
- Application: 9/10
- Formula: 10/10
- Pigmentation: 9/10
- Packaging: 10/10
GRADE: A+
I still choke if I think how much this costs but I’ve been using it every day and I love it. The powders are beautiful, long lasting and the overall experience it’s incredible. I rarely buy bronzers so I’m definitely going to use these for the foreseeable future. On top of that, I love having everything in the same compact. I definitely understand why people love it.
