Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be a Laser Hair Removal – At Home Review/My Experience.
I’m going to have to start from the beginning, so full disclaimer, this post is sponsored by BoSidin but as always, my opinions are my own.
Back to my story, so grab a coffee or a tea because this post is going to be long, I’m going to provide you with my hair story if you will, my experience with laser hair removal and the review of the BoSidin Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device, including before and afters.
My Hair Story
I don’t have many insecurities, luckily, but body hair is one of them. I have very fair skin and due to a hormonal imbalance, I also have more body hair than a lot of people.
I want to say more things but I don’t want to offend anyone with my words, so I’m going to stop there but just know that for as long as I could remember when I shaved my legs would look more like a man’s beard (black dots and fast grow) than a woman leg.
It made me feel very, very, very insecure and less of a woman. If you are one of those people who don’t agree with me, more power to you, I know body hair don’t make me less of a woman but I can’t help how I felt.
I also think that, if you can fix it, why live with the insecurity? And that’s when I first came in contact with laser hair removal.
Doing it profesionally
In case you don’t know, laser hair removal and IPL burn the hair follicles at the root and severely reduce the amount of hair your body grows until it basically disappears (it doesn’t exactly work like that but you get the gist but if you want more info you can check out these articles), you’ll have to do a couple of treatments every year to maintain it, but from shaving every other day, it sounds like an improvement.
I wanted to do that for so long, but the treatment is very pricey and so are at home machines, so how do you choose between the two? I did my researches and you can do too, I’ll leave you an article you can read to understand what you should know about IPL devices).
Right after the Summer, my esthetician was running a promotion that while pricey, was too good to pass up so I decided to FINALLY do it and I agreed to do my entire legs and under my chin where I had a sort of beard (hormonal imbalance, remember?) which embarrassed me to death. I’m going to talk more about that in another post, once I’m done with the treatment, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Anyway, there were a few tiny areas that I wanted to do too but I wanted to start with those I was the most insecure about and then I would tackle the rest but that’s when the BoSidin Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device came into my life.
Doing it at home
When the BoSidin team reached out to review their Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device I couldn’t believe it, because it was exactly what I needed to tackle those tiny areas that I wanted to treat, that didn’t necessarily require a professional to do it.
These areas were my ‘staches and that line of hair underneath my belly button and my bikini area.
I had to stop on my upper lip after two treatments because I got herpes (I deal with that a lot so it’s not because of the machine, I’ll start again once I heal), and I can’t show you my bikini area so, my before and after will be of my belly button area.
BoSidin Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device

The BoSidin Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device will arrive in this BEAUTIFUL box and it feels incredibly luxurious. It comes in three colours, green, blue and white, I wanted the white but it was sold out, so I went with the green which I actually love, it’s so chic.
It will come with Goggles and a Razor as well as everything you need to use it.
It’s on the pricey side but you get unlimited flashes, without having to replace heads like most devices you see on the more affordable sites. They have an amazing blog post describing the product which I’ll link here.
On top of that, as I said, it’s very luxurious and it would make a wonderful gift idea. Like to box itself too, it’s very fancy and well done.
The BoSidin Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device is an IPL device which essentially means it uses strong pulse technology, wide wavelength, is gentle and painless to use and it’s more suitable for home use. Currently, 99% of the devices on the market are IPL hair removal devices.
How To Use it
I recommend reading instructions first and doing a patch test.
Step 1 – Shave
You need to shave the area first, otherwise, the laser will burn the hair outside your skin and won’t be able to reach the follicle, which is what we want.
And NO, shaving doesn’t influence hair growth or thickness or anything like that, so please come out of middle age with that idea.
The hair seems ticker because it grows all the same time and it’s harder because the first part that comes out needs to pierce the skin and since it comes out first it needs to be stronger to resist for the longest time. Welcome to 2022!
Step 2 – Select the mode

Turn on the device (you do that by keeping the button pressed for 2-3 seconds).
Then select the mode, which is the intensity of the laser. By clicking the “M” you can go from 1 to 3. They recommend starting from 1 and increasing through the weeks.
Step 2 – Select the area

Now, you have to select the area you are treating and you do so by pressing the power button, there are six to choose from.
Step 4 – Wear goggles
Wear goggles to protect your eyes.
Step 5 – Hair removal
Press the light vertically to fit the treatment area, short for single flash, long press for continuous flash by using the button at the front. Once you are in position the green bar will start to pulse so you know you are in the right position.
Step 6 – SR mode
Switch to SR mode-skin rejuvenation to repair damaged skin (Hit the second time). It’s the last setting where are all the body areas you can choose from.
Before-After

The change isn’t immediate but you’ll see the hair will start to grow slowly and more patchy. I know this before isn’t much because I usually shave that area and this was as much it had grown since the last time.
As you can see, the hair is dark and thick, if I let it grow it looks like a man happy trail which I don’t like on me.
In the after, you can see most of the hair is gone, what’s left grows more slowly (the picture is taken a week after my last treatment) and it’s also softer to the touch. I’m confident that once I finish my cycle of 12 weeks the hair will be gone but this is such an improvement after only a month.
Questions
These are some questions you asked me on Instagram when I posted the device.
Does it hurt?
No, you can feel the area getting hotter, but it doesn’t hurt at all.
How often do you have to use it?
They recommend once to twice a week for the first 12 weeks and then once a month.
Is it permanent?
Yes and no, you’ll have to keep doing it every once in a while to keep the hair under control but the hair that will grow back will be more like peach fuzz than actual hair.
Everyone can use it?
Sadly no, this is the guide they have on the site.

IPL works on contrast (between hair and skin) so if your skin and hair colour are too similar the machine won’t recognize it.
And on pigmentation, so the darker the hair, the easier the machine will pick it up. I’m the ideal candidate and I’ve seen results quickly because I’m very fair with quite dark hair.
Is it safe to use?
Yes, as long as you follow the instructions. Wear the goggles and do a skin test.
Does it take a long time?
It depends on how big the area is, for me, it takes me less than 10 minutes. They also have a bigger device if you want to treat big areas.
Do you prefer professional or at home?
Here’s the million dollars question. Both. Let me explain, if you are working on a big area I’d recommend doing it professionally as it takes a lot of time and precision. You can get the bigger device because this is too small to treat a big area.
But if you are treating small ones like I am here, 100% at home. It’s not hard to do and everyone can do it. It doesn’t take too much time and overall I’m insanely happy with the result.
How much does the BoSidin Minis Permanent Hair Removal Device cost?
It’s 389.99$ but at the moment is on sale for 329.99$ AND you can have 50$ off if you click here or use the code MM at checkout, they ship worldwide and shipping is free.
BoSidin is so sure your device will work that they offer you a 180 Day Money-Back Guarantee policy.
How long will take before I start seeing results?
About 3-4 weeks done once a week. However, results vary from person to person.
They have a very detailed FAQ page which I’m going to link here in case I haven’t replied to yours.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, I think if you have a smaller area to treat and want a way to remove your hair that’s highly effective and that works on thinning your hair over time too, this is the right product for you.
It’s easy to use, quick and safe. On top of that, it looks beautiful and it last forever so you won’t have to replace it and you can test it for 3 months and if you don’t like it, you’ll get your money back.
I’m so happy to have it in m life and both my sister Queen and I are obsessed with it.
