MAC Cosmetics Apout A Girl Powerglass Plumping Lip Gloss | Review

Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the MAC Cosmetics Powerglass Plumping Lip Gloss in the shade Apout A Girl.

A couple of years ago, MAC came out with what, in my opinion, was the best product they ever had, the Plenty Of Pout glosses. They were limited edition plumping glosses. I had two shades that I’ve completely finished up. I have a lot of lip products and I’ve FINISHED both.

So when they came out with these glosses, I thought they would be the permanent version of that one, so I was very excited to give them a go.

COLOUR

This shade is a peach.

PACKAGING

The packaging for these lip glosses is a long tube in hard plastic material. It has cartoon-like writing and the names of the shades are so cute.

The main problem I have is the scent, it’s disgusting, like burned plastic. I’m very sensitive to those things and I couldn’t use this gloss without getting nauseous.

FORMULA

If you’ve tried MAC lip gloss, you would know that they are very sticky and these are no exception. The formula is very dense and thick. It’s quite shiny too.

Now about the volumizing effect. It works amazingly and it’s not too intense. I can actually see the effect.

APPLICATION

The doe-foot lip gloss applicator looks like an S, so it’s very easy and precise to use. It picks up just the right amount of product, and you can cover your entire lips with just one dip.

LASTING POWER

On me, it lasts about 4 hours but the tingly effect lasts for 1 hour or so. It doesn’t fade.

So here’s the thing, this gloss is great, it reminds me of the other one, it’s effective, the shade is beautiful and I love the packaging but the SCENT. I had to return it because the scent is too disgusting. Every single MAC product I’ve tried has always had the most amazing scent so WHY do these glosses smell so bad? If you aren’t sensitive to scent the product is great but if you are like me, stay clear of them.
