Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the elf Cosmetics Hydrating Camo Concealer.
This concealer should be a dupe for Tarte Shape Tape, which I like but it’s a bit too dry for me especially in Winter.
So when my friend Erika recommended this instead I had to try it, but the first time I ordered it I got the wrong shade and after sending it back I kind of forgot about it. When she reminded me I went and got a new one in the right shade this time.
I use the shade Fair Beige which is light enough I can use it to brighten the under eye but I can also get away with using it on the face too.
You can buy it at Ulta for 6$ and it comes in 24 shades.

PACKAGING
The packaging is a round tube in hard plastic. It’s bigger than the average concealer but it actually only contains 6ml of product, while Shape Tape is 10ml. I actually don’t like these big bottles because they get so messy in the long run spilling product everywhere.
The shade name is written on the bottom.
The applicator is a big doe-foot which I really like too. It picks up the right amount of product.

FORMULA
The concealer is nice a liquidy when you first apply it. It’s really easy to blend, I use a damp sponge but your fingertip will work too, and once it sets it becomes quite matt. That makes it quite long lasting but it tends to look heavy on me.
It works amazingly on the face, it doesn’t make the skin too dry or too oily, actually, it blends seemly with it.
EFFECT
As you can see I’m blessed with pretty light dark circles today but I have fine lines where my concealer tend to crease a lot.
It has high coverage, it covers perfectly but it can be a bit cakey especially if you have dry undereye like me. It blends seamlessly with your skin.

LASTING POWER
I usually use a powder on top I find that with a powder it doesn’t crease on me. It will last all day long.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 10/10
- Longevity: 10/10
- Application: 9/10
- Formula: 6/10
- Pigmentation: 9/10
- Packaging: 8/10
GRADE: B+
I see why so many people love this concealer, it has very high coverage, great packaging, it’s long lasting and has a good shade range but I don’t love it. It looks quite heavy on me and it’s a bit cakey, probably because my undereye is so dry. It’s a bit more creamy than Shape Tape but still too drying on me.

I was wondering how it compared to the Tape Shape! Thanks for sharing!
I’m glad it helped!
Looks fabulous – my skin (face and whole body) is sooo dry I cannot deal! Its nuts! The air here (NY) has like 8% humidity 🙁 I probably need to adjust my make up…
You definitely need to! That’s dry 😂
Always on the lookout for a good concealer but I need something quite greasy as my undereyes are dry too. Thanks for your honest review!
Thank you 💕 I’m the same x
I’ve never used elf’s concealer I may have to try it. The coverage is awesome!
It’s great coverage!
I’ve been looking for a new concealer that’s affordable! I can’t wait to try this.
I hope you’ll like it x
