Hi Darlings, in today’s post I’m going to go into detail and telling you my routine Using Only Creams For My Base.
These past few weeks my skin has been kind of dry and flakey (struggling a bit with my skincare) so whenever I’ve used powders it looked incredibly thick and cakey, especially as the day progressed.
The products I’m showing to you are my tried and true, I’ve been using each one of them all summer long and I guarantee you, they are the absolute best.
Keep in mind that my skin is also acne prone, so it’s hard to find a balance between emollient but not greasy.

1. Primer

Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Blurring Primer
This primer is perfect to minimize pores and make my foundation grip to my skin. It also stops it from getting to greasy and I can get through the day without having to repowder.
2. Highlighter

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter
Shade: 2 Fair
This product is such a cult. It blurs, illuminates and cover all at once. I love to use it under my foundation on the high points of my face to subtly highlight my features.
3. Foundation

Make Up For Ever Reboot Foundation
Shade: Y225 Marble
I could wax poetry about this foundation, it’s LEGIT the best one I’ve ever used in my entire life, both my sister and I love it. It makes the skin look like silk, smooth, luminous but dry. It has a natural finish, lasts all day and the shade matches me perfectly. It’s seriously the best.
4. Bronzer

Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick
Shade: Happy Sol
This bronzer is stunning, it makes you look naturally tanned. It has great pigmentation and it blends so easily, it legit melts into the skin. On top of that, it’s so easy to use and lasts all day. I’ve used it all Summer long.
5. Blush

Rare Beauty Bliss Soft Pinch Blush
Shade: Bliss
I owe this blush an apology. In my review, I said I didn’t love it… Yet, I’ve used it EVERY DAY since then. I find that if I draw tiny dots instead of stripes on my face and blend it with a denser blush it doesn’t enhance my pores. So now I love it. I ADORE the shade. It blends easily and it lasts all day. Funny enough, in my review I said the bottle was too big I’d never use it up… I’m actually almost out of mine so there’s that too.
6. Concealer

NARS Cosmetics Radiant Creamy Concealer
Shade: Vanilla
I tend to be pretty messy when I blend my bronzer and blush so I got into the habit of using concealer as my last step. I make a little C on the inner corner of my eyes and a stripe from the outer corner towards the temple and blend it with a sponge. I love how it cleans my look. This concealer is really creamy (as the name would suggest) has great coverage and lasts very well.
Here’s the results

After concealer I tend to powder my under eye with a loose powder (I have some intense wrinkles there and if I don’t my concealer will crease immediately) and I swipe a bit of it all over the face just to seal everything in.
I find that doing my base like this I don’t get that flaky, crusty look I used to get and my skin looks amazing all day.
Do you like cream products or do you prefer powders? I’ve been a powder girl all my life so it has been fun trying to navigate this new experience. Of course, also let me know your favourite cream products as I’m almost completely clueless about them.
I really hope you guys enjoyed the post, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know what you think and if you have any questions.
