Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Nars Afterglow Lip Balm in Orgasm which is the last birthday present I’m going to review.
My first NEW Collections post was dedicated to the Nars Orgasm Collection that includes this lip balm, it was love at first sight for me.
Listen, I know this product is expensive for what it is but as you might already know I have a soft spot for fancy lip balms.
I wear them constantly and I don’t mind splurging on them because I get a lot of wear out of them. Despite what I say in this review I’m already halfway through this one (photos were taken when I first got it).
You can get it here for 28$
The packaging is rose gold perfection, everything from the box to the bullet is metallic rose gold. It is very heavy and very sturdy, I love it, without a doubt the most beautiful lipstick I own. I take it with me everywhere and it’s a pleasure to touch up on the go.
I’m not entirely sure cause it doesn’t say on the site but in my opinion, it contains sunscreen, so although it doesn’t have a scent, I can feel a bit of sunscreen aftertaste but I might be wrong.
The shade Orgasm is pretty iconic for Nars, in case you are not familiar with it, it’s a peachy pink with a gold reflex that looks good on almost all skin tones.
It might be because I have really pigmented lips but the colour doesn’t show up at all on me, which really bothers me, it basically looks like a sheer veil on my lips.
FORMULA & APPLICATION
The formula is very creamy and it glides on really easily, it’s very thin and it doesn’t feel sticky on the lips, the finish is shiny.
It contains Monoï Hydrating Complex and antioxidants to make the lips soft and smooth.
I find it quite hydrating but it’s not the best lip balm I’ve ever tried.
This lip balm lasts for 2 hours on me (without eating), since it’s so shiny I wasn’t expecting an incredible lasting time, but you can reapply it really easily.
- Colour: 6/10
- Longevity: 7/10
- Application: 8/10
- Pigmentation: 10/10
- Comfort: 10/10
- Packaging: 10/10
I really like this lip balm, but it’s way overpriced for what it is. The packaging is stunning and honestly I’m happy to have it only for that reason but the colour is not existent which bothers me quite a bit, I wish it was slightly more pigmented, I wasn’t expecting a lot but at least something more than a transparent lip balm and I wish it was more hydrating. So I like it but I won’t repurchase it once I run out.
