Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Essence Prime & Last Baked Blush in the shade (01) You Make Me Blush.
I got this blush a couple of weeks ago and it’s part of this new limited edition line from Essence called Daily Diaries that looks way more premium and chic than their usual stuff. I mean it’s still super affordable but it felt nicer.
This shade was the only one available but I’m pretty sure it was actually the only one.
You can get it here for about 4$
Colour
The shade is a pearly peach, such a versatile and pretty everyday shade that will look good on many people.
PACKAGING
The packaging is very simple and minimal, I like that I can see the shade through the top.
The pan is quite big and the shade name is on the back.
This blush has a really strong scent, it’s the same as their lipsticks, kind like fruit candy. It’s nice, but it’s very strong, it doesn’t linger and it didn’t bother my skin but I think you should keep it in mind if yours is more sensitive.
PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
Being that this blush is baked the formula is quite soft and smooth especially when you swatch it, it has medium pigmentation. You definitely have to build up the colour.
It doesn’t have any fallout and it’s not too chalky.
Despite the shimmer, it doesn’t enhance pores or texture.
APPLICATION
It is not super pigmented but you can layer it.
SWATCH
LASTING POWER
On me, it lasts around 6 hours before starting to fade.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 7/10
- Longevity: 8/10
- Application: 7/10
- Texture: 8/10
- Pigmentation: 7/10
- Packaging: 8/10
GRADE: B+
This blush is very pretty, it looks like you are naturally flushed, I prefer when blushes are less pigmented because it helps to avoid the clown effect. The lasting power is ok. The scent could be a downside if you have sensitive skin but it doesn’t bother me. If you like the colour and you are looking for an affordable option this is really nice. For that price is a good blush.
