INGREDIENTS
Water/Aqua/Eau, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Laureth-21, Pentylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ammonium Acrylates Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, PPG-2-Deceth-30, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Black 2 (CI 77266)[NANO].
PACKAGING
The packaging is so pretty and looks very fancy. I’m obsessed with the baby pink and the shape. The brush is made of soft bristles, which I normally don’t like (I prefer felt tips), in this case though, I hate it. Not only it is HUGE, it also disperses waaay too much product. I’m pretty good with eyeliner and this one is so hard to use.
FORMULA
The formula is very liquidy, it doesn’t bleed on the eye but it floods from the applicator which makes a bit of a mess in the cap. It’s very black and matte, which is practically a miracle in the pen liner department.
APPLICATION
I can make it work, but the applicator is huge so it’s a struggle to create a tiny line. I don’t have a lot of lid space so I find it a bit complicated to use. Obviously that makes it even harder to create a precise wing. I can do it, but why struggle when you can use something smaller. That’s also what I don’t like about brush applicators, if you press too hard creating a point becomes impossible. You need to make too many adjustments and eyeliner is not the easy thing to do so why make it harder?
LASTING POWER
When I use liquid liner I tend to skip primer so it has to last well without it (on me that’s a mission). This liner lasted 12 hours without smudging or bleeding but it’s still easy to remove.
Final Thoughts on the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner:
I have mixed thoughts on this Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner, I like the formula because it’s very black, doesn’t drag and lasts very well but I despise the applicator, it’s too big and hard to use and in my opinion, it makes applying eyeliner more complex than it needs to be. So it’s not necessarily a bad product but I wouldn’t recommend it either.
I really hope you guys enjoyed the post, don’t forget to like, comment and share to let me know what you think and if you have any questions.
