Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review of the Chanel Le Volume Stretch De Chanel.
This mascara legit just came out and I was quite curious. I’m still stuck on my YSL The Shock Mascara and I never like Chanel Mascaras but I thought since I usually like these kinds of brushes I could like this one.
You know I always say mascara, more than any other product, is super personal, what I like is not necessarily the best for everyone.
If you are new here, I personally like a mascara that does everything: lengthens and volumizes but more than anything I need something that holds a curl.
The Chanel Le Volume Stretch De Chanel is available here for 35$.
PACKAGING
The packaging is classic of mascara.
It has an oval silicone brush that kind of twirls around which is my favourite kind of brush because it allows to grab every lash and create a super defined and volumized look.
Sadly, I think the actual bristles are too short to do that.
FORMULA
The formula is quite liquidy and very black, if you are not careful it tends to transfer on your lids when you apply it.
EFFECT & APPLICATION
I always do two coats to get the best results.
I think this mascara is very bland: it doesn’t do much for my lashes, despite the name it’s not volumizing and I don’t find it particularly good at holding a curl.
It’s kind of lengthening so maybe you can like it if you don’t need too much volume.
For me, though the effect is simply not there, my lashes just look more black but quite spidery.
LASTING POWER
This mascara lasts all day on me without flaking or smudging.
I find it fairly easy to remove with micellar water, I don’t have the black halo around my eyes when I wake up.
RATING:
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 9/10
- Application: 5/10
- Packaging: 7/10
- Effect: 5/10
- Formula: 5/10
GRADE: D+
I think is obvious that I don’t like this mascara at all. It could work for you if you only need a lengthening one. Obviously, it makes the name pretty deceiving in my opinion since as a volumizing mascara is a gigantic epic fail. The packaging is obviously gorgeous but the brush is terrible. I don’t recommend it at all, especially since it’s so pricey.

Oh no, sorry it didn’t work out for you. I hate when that happens. I usually stick with CoverGirl for mascara.
They have some nice ones!
Ugh that sucks it didn’t work. Never tried a Chanel mascara before. My mom was stuck on the original Le Volume for a while, but then went back to drugstore mascaras! The brush here looks so reminiscent of the L’Oreal Bambi Eye though, doesn’t it??
The shape yeah but the bristles on this one are way too short so they just don’t catch your lashes
Hm, interesting. That’s a shame!
Always appreciate the honest reviews. Currently using one by Benefit and it has worked well for me.
They have amazing products!
I will be sure to avoid this mascara! I have been a tried and true fan of Lancome Definicils for over 20 years!!!
That’s a good one!
I hate when I spend a ton of money on a crappy product. What a bummer!
Agree!
I wanted to try this but I don’t think I will after reading this! My lashes looked a bit spidery with their other mascara as well so I think it’s better to skip this one. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for reading ?
Oh no what a big disappointment! I’d read some really rave reviews and wanted to try it, but I don’t think I’ll bother now! xo
Makeup Muddle
I really don’t like it
Thanks so much for doing this review, love the packaging but passing on this one if it makes lashes look spidery and clumpy..
It’s so bad
Such a pricey product to not work out for you! Great honest review x
Thank you ?
