Hi Darlings, today’s post is going to be the review and swatch of the Essence I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It! Eyeshadow Palette.
I’m normally not a fan of Essence eyeshadows but when Tati showed them, I knew I had to try them. If she loves them I should give them the benefit of the doubt.
They remind me of the Fenty Beauty ones but these are way more affordable. Each palette has a name inspired by a song and a colour theme. There’s five of them. I also have the Bronze one which I’ll review soon.
You can find them at Ulta for 3,99$.
PACKAGING
The packaging is very pretty. Each palette is the colour of the shades it contains.
There are six shades inside the pans are fairly big. It also comes with a good size mirror which I really appreciate.
PIGMENTATION & FORMULA
Mattes: are quite buttery and easy to blend, this is the kind of formula you can’t screw up because it blends itself.
Shimmers: They are nice and buttery, easy to blend with both a brush and your fingers. They look better when you use them wet, I find that it intensifies the reflexes and it makes them look less cheap.
To be honest, I was so surprised by this palette is not even funny. The quality is great and the shades work beautifully together.
On top of that, I feel like these shades are not your average purples, they are very wearable and classy. Perfect if you want to wear colours but don’t want it to be too over the top.
APPLICATION
All shades blend easily with brushes but the shimmery ones work best if you use your fingers and you press them on.

LASTING POWER
With a primer, they last about 5 hours before creasing, which is not a lot but I have very oily lids so it probably would be fine for most people.
RATINGS:
- Colour: 9/10
- Longevity: 9/10
- Application: 7/10
- Formula: 8/10
- Pigmentation: 8/10
- Packaging: 9/10
GRADE: B+
This palette is very pretty. I love the colour story. The formula of both the matte and the shimmer eyeshadows is great. Honestly, it’s definitely a good palette and I love the looks I’ve created with it and I don’t say that easily about affordable eyeshadows. If you don’t have a big budget this is a good palette to have in your collection especially if you want to implement colours in your look but in a sophisticated way.

I have been pretty happy with several of Essence products. This palette is beautiful. I love using purples on my eyes but rarely do it.
