Hi Darlings, wearing makeup in the Summer is possible, in today’s #MakeupMonday I’m going to share with you my tips on How To Make Your Makeup Last In The Heat as well as my Sweatproof Everyday Summer Look.
The look is very simple because I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup in the Summer but I still want to feel good and put together and of course I want my makeup to last through the heat.
Like in most of my looks, the focus is on the skin because I think that if your base looks good no matter what look you do, it will look way more professional if the base is flawless.
That being said, I’m a fan of light base because NOBODY IS PERFECT and if you have imperfections it’s ok if they show through, I definitely prefer a natural face to a cakey mask, but I know so many people love full coverage so the choice is yours but this post is targeted to a more natural vibe.
TIP 1: Use a Sweatproof BB CREAM
I love to use BB Creams on my face because they tend to have a light-to-medium coverage and I feel like as soon as I get tanner my imperfections are less visible so I don’t need a heavy base, plus since they are sheerer they don’t need to match the skin perfectly and I can use the same shade for longer. They also usually contain sunscreen which is awesome for the hotter months.
My favourites are the Bali Body BB Cream (read my review here) which has medium coverage and it’s a bit more expensive and the Essence You Better Work Tinted Day Cream (here the review) which is very sheer and but it’s incredibly affordable.
Tip 2: Layer Cream and Powder
Layering cream and powder is a great way to make your products last longer.
I tend to prefer cream blushes and highlighter because they look more natural and give that fresh vibe but it’s not a secret that creamy products last less.
So just like you make your concealer last longer using powder on top of it, you can use a powder highlighter on top of a creamy one.
If you embrace your glow instead of trying the battle of staying matt you’ll have an easier life. Even if you have oily skin. No one is shine-free in the Summer.
TIP 3 Sweatproof Powders
If you don’t want to layer products because it’s too time-consuming, another tip would be to use long lasting/sweatproof powders.
TIP 4 No Mascara On The Lower Lashes
If you are like me and you hate waterproof mascara because it’s a nightmare to remove, a great tip to wear mascara in the heat is to not put it on the lower lashes. You will avoid those ugly black dots and panda eyes if you start sweating.
If you still want to wear waterproof mascara a way to make it easier to remove is to use it ON TOP of regular mascara, this way it will last longer but it would come off like a regular one and won’t damage your lashes.
TIP 5 Use Lip Balm or Bold Lipstick
The best way to wear make up in the heat is to focus on the lip, while a soft balmy shade is perfect for the day a bold lipstick what you need at night. Heat won’t interfere with it and it will still make you feel put together, even if you don’t are wearing a barely there look.
